Hi Guys,
I am happy to say I passed my last CPA part in January, haven’t had time to discuss due to good ol’ busy season. Now that it is all over, it is time to really start looking at opportunities outside of my current role, and I will tell why. I currently am a Senior Associate at a large national firm in NYC (top 20 overall). The exposure I have gained has been rewarding for sure, doing audits/reviews 6 months out of the year and doing tax returns for the other half.
This busy season has been very overwhelming since we were severely short staffed etc. I have been approached by numerous recruiters for better positions. I guess it really is up to me, but let me throw some scenarios out there and see what everyone says!
1) Go to Private/Industry as a senior accountant (prob 15/20% bump on average)
2) Stay in public and move to another firm, similar size or even big 4 for a year or two (very easy to get into with networking and my buddies etc.)
3) Shoot for a consulting firm (not so much management consulting but internal audit/consulting)-could be a hefty bump but not quite sure if this is the right move
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
