Hmmm…anyone up who wants to test an early score release theory?

WARNING: This is just pure guessing!

So I think I’ve found a way to possibly tell if you’ve passed a section before score release. If you log in to the NASBA site (must be using Chrome or Firefox) and view your ‘Home’ page as if you were going to resubmit an application. From that screen where your table of previous scores are, right click anywhere and select, ‘View Page Source’. Now go down to where the coding for the bottom table is located (you can do this by pressing Ctrl + ‘F’ and entering in the section abbreviation – i.e. AUD for auditing). Each row in the table is defined with curly brackets and separated by a comma. Within each curly bracket there should be information similar to the following: “id”:”xxx811″,”create_date”:”06 Dec 13″,”update_date”:”16 Feb 14″,”status”:”Submitted”,”description”:”AUD” (ID # redacted). Once you’re at the part of the table that gives you the information pertaining to each section, I think if you have an ID number that means you passed at least one section on that Notice to Schedule. In order to test this, it would be beneficial to have someone who passed two sections on one NTS to confirm whether or not they have two ID numbers in that section of the coding. Also, it would help if someone who did not pass any section of a particular NTS to verify that they have no ID number. Can anyone confirm either of these situations?

    BEC - 85
    FAR - 81
    REG - 82

This was the breakdown for myself as far as NTS, ID Numbers, and actual results:

    NTS #1 – 1 section – 1 ID Number – Passed 1 Section

    NTS #2 – 3 sections – 1 ID Number – Passed 1 Section

    NTS #3 – 2 sections – 1 ID Number – Passed 1 Section

    NTS #4 – 1 section – 1 ID Number – pending results

    AUD - 90
    BEC - 85
    FAR - 81
    REG - 82

Hmm, so base on what jtshort said, the way to test it would be to see if someone did not pass any section under an NTS #. If they did not have a section ID listed, then it could be used an an indication of passing/not passing at least one section under an NTS #.

I took 3 exams, passed 3 under my last NTS, and have a section ID # listed.

I took AUD (waiting) under this NTS and have a section ID # listed.

    B - 81 (8/31/13) first attempt!
    A - 80 (2/3/14) first attempt!
    R - 89 (7/31/13) first attempt!
    F - 86 (7/2/13) first attempt!

Naaba hasn't received your score from the AICPA yet so it's not possible.

Your section ID is your NTS. Ask someone who hasn't registered for all 4 sections yet to do the exercise you illustrated above and you'll have your answer.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

@mla1169 I looked to see if the ID # was the same as the NTS number and they aren't the same. The NTS # is 7 digits and the ID # here is only 6 (and the numbers don't match). I'm pretty sure NASBA has my score since the wording on that page indicates that my status was last updated 2/16/14. Ideally, quite a few people will be willing to test this out and we can look at the results to see if there is any correlation.

this says when NASBA gets the scores. The update you see is that theyve been notified you sat. Scores are released in a batch, not in real time ( which is what feeds the theory that there is some kind of curve)

I took AUD on 2/3 and my Home page just says “App in Progress.” Is that what it is supposed to say?

Are you talking about the specific state's home page? For instance, I log onto the Virginia BOA to submit my applications for testing. You are saying check the source code there? If so… I think you are out of luck as my source code doesn't give any indication as to what you mentioned.
