Holidays & Car Accident

It’ been about a month since I’ve logged in to A71. It’s also been about a month since I’ve cracked a book. Here’s my story:

I passed BEC and AUD in Q4 of 2014. My plan was to take REG at the end of January and I got through the first three chapters of Becker before Christmas and New Year’s hit. Studying pretty much came to a screeching halt as I really just wanted to take time of from work and spend quality time with my girlfriend and family. To make matters worse, I was involved in a terrifying car accident on Sunday. No exaggeration, it’s a miracle that I’m typing this right now.

Today is my first day back at work. I work in public accounting and we all know busy season is knocking on the door. Good Grief. Should I power through and fight desperately to be prepared for REG sometime in early February? Or,should I just put REG & FAR completely on the back burner until season is over considering AUD and BEC don’t expire until 6/30/16? Your thought and advice is greatly appreciated.

    AUD - 83

Now what the hell do I do?

if you have until june 2016… i would wait until after tax season… unless your NTS expires before the next time you'd be able to take it anyway – you could maybe just attempt REG, with hopes of just getting an idea of the exam? then you'd know what you're working with.

i hate the idea of taking an exam during tax season, but for some it comes down to losing a section and you're lucky enough to have plenty of time, so its more of a personal decision, i think. if you're up for it you are, if not… dont push too hard, especially if the accident was so bad…

good luck and hope you feel better soon.

    FAR - 84.
    AUD - X,X,76.
    REG - X,X,75.
    BEC - X,X,74*, 81 AND IM DONE!!!!!!

*if i dont pass, i lose FAR.

Study materials: Becker videos/MCQ/Books, NINJA Blitz helped to finally pass AUD and REG.

First exam was in May 2013, seems like so long ago - FINALLY DONE!!!

I'm glad you're able to type this and hope you're recovering well.

Why don't you compromise? Try to study and see how it goes, if you feel ready sometime in February do it then, if not at least you didn't force a square peg into a round hole. Do you already have the NTS? Schedule for the end of February and then you have time to change it earlier or later without a fee if you make your decision in the next 23 days.

and you already know this I'm sure but a word of caution to others reading this, thats why its scary to take time off for holidays, girlfriends, etc. You don't know that when you're ready to buckle down again that something catastrophic could come up and mess with your plans.

2 legit…2 legit to quit studying..

REG and FAR are the longest sections and you may need every minute of that 6/30/16 deadline if things don't go as planned. nothing is worse than losing a section…NOTHING!!!

    REG-65,71,74,73,70,74,79
    BEC-60's,60's,69,71,76*,78
    FAR-67,66,65,79
    AUD-54,60's,65,83*,69,80
    *expired

    DONE

I agree with nolifecpa. You do NOT want to lose a section. You only have 2 shots to pass REG and FAR.

At the very least, knock out REG this window and take FAR in the next.
