I basically got an opportunity to go on a cruise to the bahamas for free for 5 days but the bad side is I just found out about it and the cruise is in 3 days.

The plus side is im only an intern

Obviously i leaning towards staying in work but i wanted to see what you guys think, its gonna upset me alot knowing i turned down a free cruise (ive never been on one)

I'm going to lean towards don't.

“So what about so-and-so, oh they're pretty good, however they bounced out during busy season, kinda makes you wonder what they might try to pull as staff during next busy season”

    or.

Nobody will care, you'll get to go on a cruise and end up with an offer.

I would lean on the side of caution unless you've got good ins with people making the hiring decisions.

LOL!!!!! What bad luck man! You can get a cheap cruise anytime when it is off season. Mainly October through December you can find a 5 day cruise for less than $500. You should just forget about the cruise, and go on with your life. That is unless you do not care about your job.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

What if the ship breaks in the middle of the ocean, like the royal caribean did and you are stuck longer then 5 days?

These days i would stay away from cruises…..

Yah I would tell the firm that a family emergency came up and don't specify what it is. The family losing a $1000 or more on a cruise sounds like a family emergency to me 🙂 Make sure you wear sunblock!

I would tell the firm it is unavoidable and that you WILL make up the hours in the next couple of months. GOOOOOO!!!

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Are you trying to get a full time job with this firm? Are you going to regret not going? In ten years what is going to matter more the cruise or your career.

Not that this is at all the same, but I had a job when i was in school and i felt so much pressure to never miss a day that I missed out on lots of things that looking back I wish I had done instead of working at that job. Granted that job was not in my field at all, and I would have lost nothing but a few hours pay if I had skipped out….

I think you probably know the answer to what you are going to do already…. Also make sure you check that you can actually use the ticket in someone else name before you commit. You don't want to take the time off and then find out you cant actually use the ticket.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
