Hello – Can anyone tell me if the big 4 firms usually tell you when you’ve passed the background check? I submitted all the information about a week and a half ago. The onboarding team said I would receive an automated email from the background check company once everything has been finalized. I haven’t received anything from the background check company yet but my manager just sent me a congratulatory email today. They also had me book the flight for my orientation today as well. Is it safe to assume that everything has been finalized even though I did not receive a confirmation email or would it be better to double check with the onboarding team? Thank you for your feedback/comments in advance!

I would check with HR/onboarding team.

Something like, “Hi! I submitted all my information as requested, and just wanted to ask if everything has been processed? Can you please let me know if there's anything that I may have missed?”

They'll check on your stuff and tell you. No harm done. If they reply in an unclear way, you can then respond and say “Can you confirm whether all onboarding activities are completed (e.g. background check)?”

It's not abnormal to want to make sure there are no hangups in the process. It shows initiative to get things done.
