What do you do that you find makes the greatest difference/improvements for you when studying and learning?

Some efforts I’ve found dont make a big difference, but then some others do…

As a positive, isolating and defining concepts for me seems to help the most.. For some reason all the words sometimes just seem to run together, so distinguishing them is helpful… and, if I can maintain a clear sense of contrast, then it helps keep everything straight…

On a lesser note, I used to think memorizing was most important to me, but, while it is helpful, it isnt so important as comprehension, which is a much more involved process…

What makes the greatest gains for you?

Trying to answer the examples before I read the answer. I can store lots of short-term memory making some kind of visual on paper. Long-term, it's all about practice. I usually teach myself the material. I talk it out and explain to myself why it's a certain way. I was never a note taker and they are absolutely useless to me.
