How have you studied for a third attempt?

Just interested to hear people’s strategies for their third attempts at an exam section, particularly REG, and what your results were?

Did you rewatch lectures and retake notes or just hammer mcqs, etc.

I currently have access to CPA Excel, Wiley TB, Ninja MCQs and audio, and Becker.

It feels like I almost have too much material to choose from!

The first attempt I used CPA Excel and the second time I used Becker because my work provided it, and added Ninja MCQs I did’t really like how Becker was organized. To me CPA Excel is much easier to manage…

Anyways, ANY advice or sharing of your personal experience would be appreciated đŸ™‚

    Thank you!

    FAR 75 (8/21/13)
    AUD 72 (10/29/13) 74 (2/12/14) 84! (04/01/14)
    BEC 75 (11/27/13)
    REG 72 (05/29/14) 74 (07/10/14) 86 and DONE! (10/02/14)

I'm using Wiley, so I have no videos to watch, but for the first two exams, I read the book and did most of the problems in the book and test bank. For the third exam, I bought the Ninja test bank and answered EVERY question and sim until I got them right. As awful as this may sound, I suggest reviewing everything because all three of my tests were completely different.

    Good luck.

I have Becker materials for REG. On the first pass, I studied Becker and did Wiley questions out of the book version (not WTB) – got a 67. On the 2nd try, I did NO MCQs, but went over a lot of the concepts to make sure I understood them – got a 71 — scored actually really highly on Sims, but not very well on MCQs (not surprisingly). Coming on the 3rd pass now — gonna buy Ninja MCQ and do 2000 questions!!

I did not go over videos again, but I did review piece meal writing. I did however do 2000 attempts of MCQ, and read ninja notes several times. I wish I had done a few more days of SIMs going into the final week, they are a real hassle to “study” for since you can only do 10-20 on a good day, and there are more topics than you are going to see.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75

@CPA Title in 2015 you're right that does sound awful haha. But I'll do what I have to…

    @ijustwant76 I think you're gonna pass this time! 71 without any MCQ's?!

@tomq04 I agree SIMs such a hassle to study. I always start practicing them too late and which I had more time too. I think I might do a couple every day to get through more of them.

I rewrite the NINJA notes, then start doing MCQ, review in my review course material topics I'm really struggling with and do more MCQ. I try to listen to the audio as much as I can stand. I find after rewriting the notes the audio topics really click for me and are even more helpful.

I have Roger CPA Review course, purchased back when it came with WTB, so I have that too. I've purchased NINJA notes and audio.

The above worked for FAR and I'm hoping it works for REG!

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.
