    Hi everyone!

I got my REG score just now – 80! for REG. I took it on March 6th.

I did not manage my time properly and going into sims after mcqs and bathroom break had only 45 minutes to finish. As this was my first CPA exam ever, I really took effort and spent extra minutes to get correct answers on 1st testlet, and then the 2nd testlet was so much harder! Surprisingly I got a lot of business law questions, like bankruptcy or agency, which drilled to very peculiar details, I basically had to really take time to think them over and ultimately make educated guesses. 3rd testlet was approximately the same as 2nd.

My sims were quite unexpected, tested on some obscure details. I managed to finish 1 research (it was a VERY strange question, never touched upon in review materials but thankfully I took advice from this forum and reviewed IRC structure quite thoroughly before exam, so I think I got that one right), 1 DRS (not hundred percent sure if I made it correct, but it was on individual taxation and seemed ok), and one more sim about property transactions. This last one required lots of calculations; btw, there were no fall down menus whatsoever. At the end I really did not even have time to put in zeros in the remaining sims and submitted them blank within 10 seconds left.

After the exam I felt I scored anywhere between 70 and 80 and thankfully I made it!

I guess I did really good on mcqs and that pulled me into passing range

    Now on to FAR 🙂

Good luck to everyone still taking on REG!!

    Congrats gentlemen and gentlewomen!

Oh I so dearly wanted to pass this one, in order that I might have a summer vacation for the first time in years.

I passed REG with 88 and so I am half way with have BEC and AUD to pass. I will retake BEC for the 2nd time, 1st time I got 71, at the end of April and AUD probably in July.
Good job everybody! It is a lot of effort and dedication. I lost my job at the end of the year and on the bright side I had more time to study. ☺
Most of the people in this forum seem to be on their 20s or 30s. I am on my 40s. Is there any hiring of people my age? I worked for KPMG in South America and internal auditing for BellSouth in South America too.

Great news to fall asleep last night knowing I passed the REG exam. What helped me the most in increasing my score from my first attempt was to always GO BACK TO THE WEIGHTED OUTLINE for material. In other words, Individual Tax is SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than Contact Law. It's about 60% of the old version of the exam if I remember correctly. You WILL NOT pass unless you have a firm grasp on that topic. Be efficient with your time-look at what you are being tested on and the importance of the material to determine how much time to give it.

83!! 17 point increase from when I failed REG in November.. I feel like I'm living proof that not seeing an increase in test difficulty does not mean you didn't pass.

SIMS were straightforward and pretty easy

MCQ was a beast. I was really worried because everyone on here was saying how obvious it was that their testlets were getting more difficult. Although I found each testlet hard, I felt like they were all medium for me. And it's not because I thought it was easy..far from it. None of my questions were wordy and there were no complex computations. If you knew the rule, it was simple to calculate. I assumed this was a bad sign because on past tests it was really easy to see the increase in difficulty.

Never count yourself out until you receive your score because you truly never know with these tests.

    I took REG on 10/14/16.

This is my second section of the CPA Exam. I like REG in most cases because I love taxes and the tax laws.

When I got my score back on 11/04/16, I have a:
    96

Another excellent score! It seems that my scores are really high in FAR and REG. Thanks to my experience in H&R Block during 2016, this helps me a lot. The business law and accountants’ ethics are not too bad.
To be honest with you, I stupidly missed one tax question but this does not costs me because I performed very well. lol

Move on to AUD, coming up shortly.

CPA Exam passer. All first time.
