How important are the numbers for REG?

So all my numbers are a little off for my books. For example the phase out for the adoption credit is 194K instead of the actual amount for 2014. Almost all the numbers are off for the book vs this year. Does it really matter? Are they going to ask me to solve for something and I have to remember the current numbers?

Doesn't matter at all. However, numbers like the AGI floors for deductions do matter. I didn't memorize one phaseout limit

I felt like at least for my study material so much emphasis was placed on the amounts, but they were not important at all. I think as long as you know the basics you would be okay.

No. The actual $ amounts are not important. The CPA exam very rarely tests on actual $ amounts or phaseouts.

    Are you using Becker?

If so, go to the Becker website for the list of updates to the book.

That's what happened to me – I received my book end of 2013, then they made updates for 2014, so I am going through all the updates and making corrections to amounts in my book.

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14

    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!
