I could see it stretching to “bye-bye” or “bay-bay”, but “bah-bah”? Someone please explain. I can’t be the only one who disagrees with this pronunciation and it’s driving me crazy lol!

It is only after I was done with everything that I could truly appreciate the scope, or magnitude, of my dislike for that man.

My guess is, as a 50-60 year old man, he doesn't want to be saying “BAY BAY” more than he has to…

Is it an accent issue? I was watching one of those home buying shows, and the southern people kept saying “towel shower” and I finally figured out they were saying *tile* shower.

Ha. I just have to say if someone who clicked on this forum didn't know what the CPA exam was and saw the title to this thread……they'd never take us seriously.

The southern dialect is beautiful gift. Just look at Matthew McConaughey: he has zero talent and an oblong face but the women love him. Why? Southern accent.

Look at the University of Alabama: They win 9/10 games and play for a national championship every other year. Why? Southern accents.

Just saying, there is a direct link between southern accents and success. You should probably try to learn it, should increase your exam scores by 12-16 points.

F8 was the first lecture that I watched, and listened to, start to finish. On one hand I think it's kind of silly but on the other hand I think he's simply trying to reinforce the concept.

I actually didn't mind the guy in the video. I never took a government accounting class so this topic was really foreign to me. I left the in person lecture feeling really discouraged because I wasn't getting the concepts at all. I started the homework and was missing every other question so I took a deep breath and decided to go through the video lecture. I'm really glad I did. I think the he did a better job of explaining things than our in person lecture did. Yeah he repeats things a lot but I don't think I'm going to forget that stuff anytime soon.

I hope no one thought I was being critical. I majored in linguistics and find it really interesting how different dialects pronounce some vowels differently. Another example is that those speaking British English tend to put an R at the end of a word that ends in a vowel when the next word starts with a vowel. I'm not familiar with this guy in the videos, so I was just making a suggestion as to a possible reason he pronounces it that way.
