How long does it take to get the application in TN after passing the last part?

I spoke to the TN state board & they said they haven’t received my candidate file from NASBA yet, but they can get me the application as soon as they do (they already have my ethics). Does anyone know how long that should take? I got my last score back 11/24/15.

You can download the application on the NASBA site. I've already got mine downloaded to my desktop and ready to go.

@spikesrd – Thanks for answering! I'm having trouble finding it, can you point me in the right direction? I asked the representative from the TN state board if I could download it online & he said once he got my candidate file from NASBA, he would email it to me. I am just trying to be proactive as I don't want to have to deal with all of this during tax season, which for me starts the first week of January. Plus… haven't we done enough waiting already! 🙂

Following – searched everywhere on TN sites and cannot find the initial application, only renewals and reciprocal licenses. Received my final passing score on 11/24 and finished the ethics exam last Friday. Here's hoping we get them soon @BoutTime4CPA!

@mjstevens – that's all I could find as well. I will tell you that the guy I spoke with at the board said sometimes the AICPA is slow to get the ethics to them, so you can email your certificate to them. I recommend calling & they'll likely give you an email address of one of the representatives to send it to. At least they won't be waiting on that! NASBA is another story…

Waiting on the application is driving me crazy! Patience is a virtue I have yet to attain…

I know this isn't TN-specific, but what I've gathered for most NASBA-states is that scores are usually sent after all scoring is done for the testing window (last score release was last night, right?) and then sometimes take through the whole “black-out month” to be sent. I'm not sure what order they're sent in, or if the varying reports have more to do when different state boards process rather than when different state boards receive them, but I've seen reports of people not having scores received by the state board till the end of blackout month following the close of the window they tested in, and having that be considered normal by NASBA and their state board, even if they were in the first wave (so they could have tested Oct 1 and not have their scores received till Oct 31). Hopefully TN moves quicker, though, or the process as a whole moves quicker than last I hear!

Congrats on being at this point in the journey!

Thanks Lilla. I also read on one of the sites (NASBA/AICPA/TSCPA) that they have until the 15th of the month following the testing window (ie January 15th for the Oct-Nov testing) to send out the application. Hopefully it doesn't take that long, but as you said, each state is probably different.

I'm with you! 2 of my coworkers had theirs relatively quick (they passed the last part in a previous window), so that's what's making me anxious! It's just crazy that they already have released scores, but can't either get us the application pretty quick after score release OR just allow us to download them off the website like other states do.

So, did you get your application? I just found out I passed my last section and I am in Tennessee also.

It absolutely kills me how difficult it is to find information about what to expect after passing….

I did find the below on CPA Central:

    Congratulatory Letters
If you tested through jurisdictions represented by CPA Examination Services (CPAES) – except Florida – you will receive a congratulatory letter from CPAES upon passing the entire CPA Examination. This letter will provide you with further instructions on how to obtain your license, per your Board’s qualifications. All other candidates will receive additional instruction regarding the licensure application process directly from their Board of Accountancy.

Letters mailed by CPAES will be sent to you by the following dates:

    January/February testing window: April 15
    April/May testing window: July 15
    July/August testing window: October 15
    October/November testing window: January 15

Nasba is insanely disorganized..I wish I applied through a state outside of there jurisdiction.

I received my application yesterday in my e-mail! I received my final score on 3/4/2016, passed the ethics exam on 3/1/2016. I found a FAQ that said you could e-mail your ethics exam results to jarrod.stamper@tn.gov, so I did that on 3/2.

Just wanted to post in case anyone else wanted to try to expedite the process by sending their ethics certificate to him.
