Looks like BEC has lesser stuff to cover than other sections.

So wonder how long does it take to be prepared for the exam?

    FAR-81
    AUD-88
    BEC-75
    REG-1/26/17

    A: 64 71 88!
    F: 72 69 65 81!
    B: 70

Took me about a month. I kind of slacked off for the 1st week, so I'd say a solid 3.5 weeks (1 review week included). It's do-able, but I took everyone's advice on here and made sure I did tons of mcq. It looks like fewer things to cover, but it's not easy — I honestly enjoyed studying for AUD much more than BEC.

    AUD: Pass (WTB)
    BEC: Pass (Ninja/Becker)
    REG: Pass (WTB)
    FAR: Pass!!! (Becker/WTB/Ninja)

DONE!! šŸ™‚ It's SO nice to be able to finally write this. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Four weeks from first day of study until test day. That will get you through all of the sections with a week to review heavily tested topics/ weak areas.

I have five different books to cover so much information.. 80 lectures to finish..

Can't believe you are done with the section in a month!

What study material did you use?

    AUD-88

It sounds like you're using too many study materials. What all are you using?

For BEC I used Becker and NINJA MCQ. I did finished my lectures and first pass of MCQ in about a month (averaged 1.5 chapters a week) and spent another 6 weeks reviewing. I honestly didn't need that long to review and coulde have taken the exam 2 weeks earlier but I was stuck since my Prometric site was filling up fast and that was the earliest I could schedule. I averaged about 3 hours on a weekday and about 6 – 8 hours on a weekend day.

BEC is not the “easy” exam that some people will claim it is. The biggest problem is that there is no overlap on the material at all. It doesn't build off of itself and each topic is entirely self contained. This makes the actual “learning” phase a lot more difficult. But once you get the material down, the Review phase isn't too bad. Just know calculations and formulas. Then just hammer MCQ until you can't take it anymore.

I did 5 weeks simply to fit it into the last testing window but had it not been for the time constraint I would have definitely given it 7 weeks. It doesn't look like a lot of material but it definitely feels like it when studying. I did not feel prepared on test day but survived.

What do you think about Ninja book for BEC??

I feel like my material covers too much info.

I used Becker and Ninja MCQ to supplement. Watch out for this one, some of the topics can be very challenging because as a whole I think this exam was a very different experience than others.

It may not be as much material as FAR or REG, but it is more than AUD.

Whatever you do, don't sleep on this one it's not an “easy” exam.

    FAR - 75
    AUD - 78
    BEC - 82
    REG - 77

I did the first half of my book over a few months, and the second half in about 2 weeks when I suddenly realized I needed to meet much earlier deadlines, then a week review… So it could be done in a month if you work really hard and don't have too much else on your plate.

I am probably in the minority because I DID think BEC was easy and thought the other 3 were horrendous (even AUD). It will help if you remember your basic Econ classes (micro and macro) and have taken the other 3 sections because there is some overlap.

I studied approximately 4 hours per day with one light day (an hour review) per week for four weeks. Then took the test, I passed with a 79. I used Roger CPA/Wiley test bank exclusively for this section and NINJA flashcards.

    Study notes

    1. I did about 2 writing examples. I did not focus on it much because if you now the material you should be able to write a business email about any of the topics.

    2. I was very familiar with some of the topics which let me be able to just go through them once without having to harp on them.

    3. When you do take BEC be prepared for these out of left field questions during the exam, don't panic, they seem to be on everyone's test.

    4. I attribute the passing score for the exam to flashcards. The flashcards from NINJA and flashcards I made for this section were a HUGE help. I hate flashcards but I made and did them for this section and it made a difference.

    Hope that helps.

I studied full time just for about a month :). Don't underestimate bec shorter chapters doesn't mean easier chapters. The chapters don't intertwine so that makes it harder because nothing flows. Good luck

Dont be fooled by things like “looks like there is less to study”

BEC is every bit as difficult as FAR or REG. If you slack off, you will fail.

I would study for 6 weeks, 100 hours.

    do that, you should pass.

I started to study for BEC before any other section, but I didn't know about the Becker format or the lectures, so I just went for the book and the MCQs for chapters 1 and 2, then I stopped and started FAR because I HATE cost accounting and managerial accounting, what a boring subject!!. I finished the 1 and 2 chapters in like 4 days, so I think BEC takes 2 weeks or 3 weeks max.
