I can take whatever classes I want (I already have the required accounting courses) so I want to take easy classes to get to 150. How long would it take to get these 27 credits out of the way working full time?

If you're working full-time, I doubt you'll be able to handle a full-time school schedule (even if the classes are easy). So, it'll probably take two years.

Why do u need 27 classes? You mean 27 credits?

Depends. There are classes that are four-six weeks and there are classes that are 10-12 weeks. If you pushed you could probably take 3-4 classes at a time while working full time. Won't be fun even if they're easy classes but I'd say at least 3 semesters.

Online is usually one or two classes at time with a value of 3 credit hours unless they include a lab. But the time is at least 6 to 8 weeks if they are grad courses. Regular courses are about 4 weeks. (depending on which school you pick)

Why are you trying to push it anyways? Why don't you just take it easy and take one or two classes at a time to up your GPA?

I'm just unsure of what my CPA firm would say. If they push people to get it done right away. I start there (first job at CPA firm) in a few weeks. I haven't even finished my exams yet

Well I am sure they understand that this cannot happen over night ( school and pass the exams) so work on it but don't let it drive you nuts.

You're studying for the exams too, so I would not push it and just take a 1 or 2 classes at a time.

I am in the same boat. I need 27 more semester units for my license. I just finished 3 units from my local community college 6 weeks summer program. By end of August, I would finish another 5 units thru other community college for accounting 101. I am expecting to finish the remaining 19 units early 2016. Since i work full time, i rather not push myself and take too many classes at once.

I can see that you are not done with your exam, so it is best to focus on finishing your exam first. you probably could take 1 or 2 classes.

Devry has classes that are 8 weeks long and they are semester units. I heard that university of phoenix is 5 weeks. A typical semester course if 3 units. That is 9 courses (give or take). If you chose one of the above options you could easily finish it in less than a year. I would take pass or no pass if you can, at least it would eliminate the stress of performance.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!

You can take classes through the Keller/Becker program. It helps you prepare for the CPA exams and also gives you credits towards the education requirement. Since you have REG and BEC left, maybe you can sign up for these. I think that is at least 5 credits. Then i would take around 2 classes each semester for the others. Maybe finish it in around 3-4 semesters.

I would look into the UNA/CPA Excel classes. I did 15 units through them and I was able to complete them with minimal time spent. I didn't care about grades, just needed the units. I did the exams and quizzes which are the majority of the grade and did minimal homework. I was able to earn 15 units while working full time, studying for the CPA exam and being a mom to 2 young kids.

Look into Clep & DSST. You get credits for passing an exam… I have not taken these yet but I assume they will be a cake walk compared to the cpa exam.

Since you already have your accounting courses and your degree, I'm gonna go outside the box a bit

    1) Focus on your exams. Your firm is only pushing you because it means more money for them. The risk is all yours, and the reward primarily belongs to them. Keep that in mind before pushing yourself unreasonably hard. If they boot you later on, somebody else will hire you for having passed the exams.

    2) If you have your accounting degree, and all of your accounting and business units, etc, then I wouldn't worry about your grades and the content of the classes. Take basket weaving online if it qualifies in your state and shoot for a C. It sounds like all you need to do is check a box, so that is all I would work on doing.

    FAR - 80
