    Hi all

I need to plan my study time this fall and with full time work I think I can come up with a maximum of 190 study hours for REG. Is this enough? My planned approach is to read all Becker chapters and do the Becker MCQs right after, with 8 chapters I hope I can do that in 95 hours), and then spend the remainder of time on review of my notes and NINJA MCQs (so another 95 hours).

Is this doable? How many hours did you spend on your REG study?

I think that is more than enough. I personally put in around 130 and did just fine. I do have a background in tax but had to spend some extra time re-learning all the B-Law material from college. After each tax section, I would do a few MC ?'s from that section and all the previous sections so I didn't forget things along the way. There is a ton of material but 190 is more than enough I would say.

    REG - 82
    AUD - 97
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 84
    DONE!

I spent a little over 100 hours on REG, just using Becker

    AUD 4/4/2014 - 97
    FAR 5/29/2014 - 97
    REG 7/10/2014 - 90
    BEC 8/1/2014 - 89

My new strategy is to take BEC and REG at once, in November. I will spend 85 hours for BEC (and 100 for REG). No experience in tax law. Good or bad idea?

I'd recommend against that. There is a ton of material for REG, so I wouldn't want to walk into REG distracted by any BEC material, personally.

I don't track study hours, but I'd estimate that I studied for REG something in the range of 135-150 hours, not including time spent listening to Ninja Audio while driving. To give you an idea of my study hours, I studied for REG for exactly 7 weeks. I study each weekday evening for 1-3 hours, and on weekend days I study in the range of 4-8 hours. It's the lower end of the range when I first start studying, and the higher end of the range as I get closer to my test.

I also work with both tax and law to a certain extent, which I know for sure helped me on the exam.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

Kimboroni: I do understand it will be tough. But after all, I did overstudy for both AUD and FAR. I want to spend as little time as possible on this, so that I can go on with my life and spend my time as I used to do before I started this journey (being a good Manager, working out, spending time with my girlfriend etc.). So I just need to get out of this, quick and dirty. That's why I am trying to speed this up, and all though I know I will have 4 weeks of pure hell if I decide to spend about 200 study hours over that time period and sit for both REG and BEC, I just think it might be worth it.

I will probably go ahead with this, however, I will start by reading the Becker book on BEC. If I feel alright content wise at that point, I will start doing NINJA MCQs and simultaneously read the Becker book on REG. After that I will do NINJA MCQs on both BEC and REG until I drop. If I get the feeling I am not doing well enough when I have 60 hours left, I will concentrate completely on BEC.
