I personally spent more than $3,000 so far (review materials and exam fees) just for FAR and AUD but not pass them yet. I am wondering how much does it cost you to pass all the parts? I saw lots of people took all of the parts more than 1 time. it is added up to a lot of money. there’s one I counted more than 10 times. wow. I really need to get another job just for this test.

    please share your pain.

I guess I'm a little more fortunate. My firm paid for the entirety of the Becker materials. Because Becker is so expensive, however, they're not paying for the entirety of the testing fees, but they are putting $600 toward them.

I could have gotten all the testing fees taken care of if I had chosen Roger or Gleim instead — hopefully I picked right!

I've taken two exams. Based on my limited knowledge of cost accounting, I think that means I've spent somewhere between $0 and more than $0 so far.

@James. wOWOWWOO. you are sooo lucky. I saw you got very high on your FAR score too. wow 91. SUPPERRR! please let me know how you did it because I am struggling with FAR. I Took Becker review and failed twice already. I did put lots of time into it. I am just very bad at taking test.

    please advice.

I'm incredibly lucky in that everything was paid for by my employer. I've spent about $70 rescheduling exams, but that's it. Assuming I continue to pass on my first go, that's it. If I fail REG (come on, score release…), I'll have to start picking up the tab.

OH, and I bought the 10 Point Combo during the BOGO for Black Friday. How could I forget?!

One of the bennies of Big 4 is they cover Becker for us. I have to put money up front for the tests, but am reimbursed. However, if I fail one, the next test is on me.

I'm going to estimate mine at around $3,500 so far. My firm paid for everything, but that figure includes the application and testing fees for all four exam sections (so far); the full Roger CPA Review; the Wiley CPAexcel package that included the 2014 books, the Focus Notes, and the WTB; and the NINJA 10 Point Combo Lite plus the MCQs for REG. I'll also be getting the MCQs for AUD and FAR and have every intention of buying the NINJA Books for those if they come out in time for my exams.

Becker was free through my company, I spent $500 on ninja, paid 7 exam fees and application fees upfront but should get 4 of those tests reimbursed when I pass.

5k Bonus tomorrow depending on how things go!

I have paid for one retake ($250). I blogged for my Ninja materials and my company pays for me to take each test once and a Qbank for each test. After that one retake I decided not to have any more retakes. I can't afford to have to retake any more tests because this all happened unexpectabtly at a time in my life when we had just had 3 kids. Sucky insurance + two in diapers for a couple of years + 3 full years of formula does not allow for a lot of extra income. I do self study on old borrowed books and don't watch lectures anymore or have a book for the test I'm currently studying for (hopefully the last one). I google to find updates posted online. There are ways to get around the cost if you are determined enough and willing to study from different sources.

My company paid for all of my review materials and testing fees. The total figure is around $1,600. which covers review materials and testing fees. Currently studying for my last exam, so hopefully $1,600 will be the final figure. I'm like mama bear, all self study, no lectures at all. I just read the Wiley book, even though it's boring as hell.

I work in the industry so I am not reimbursed for anything for the exam. I think I have paid about $2000 for yaeger materials and all of my testing fees. My other big expense is for coffee… I have spent close to $500 at local coffee shops in the last 10 months. But on the up side, my coffee shop time is SUPER productive!

don't forget to enter “Hiya” everytime you purchase Ninja materials. It will give you automatic 15% discount.

I probably spent more than $2,500.

If you leave out the medical costs, I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $8,000, between testing fees, review courses, travel and lost time from work. If you add all of the medical bills in with it, and you could legitimately include the anemia, shoulder and ulcers, then I'm at around $20,000. If you add in the other medical bills then we are probably closer to $30,000. If you factor in the 5 years and one foot of my son's life, that I'll never get back, then the high end number will probably triple because I'll be trying to buy his affection and pay for his therapy for many, many years to come. I wouldn't even want to venture a guess what that number would be if you added all of the alcohol. I'm sure I don't want to know.

I've probably spent about $2400 so far. Will end up being around $3k once all is said and done. I bought CPA Excel, Wiley Books, and Ninja Audio/Flashcards/Notes. Opened the Wiley books twice maybe so didn't really need those.

@Topsya @brian11785 PwC would pay for Becker once you accept their offer and sign up for Becker through them, but if you have already paid for Becker, they won't reimburse you for the cost. I believe its the only Big 4 that does that, but I accepted their offer over other Big 4 firms because personally, its seem like the right fit for me.
