I am just wondering, is this something good to do on the last day before the exam?

-go over government accounting journal entries

-go over 50 government accounting MCQ

-go over 30 random Wiley MCQ

-go over 30 random Ninja MCQ

-go over 2 random Wiley sims

Do not do any MCQ, this is a complete waste of time on the night before the exam because you might get them wrong then you have to read correct answer then .. etc. Why bother?

Just go over the material and read and recall and comprehend.

I did nothing the day before, no notes, no mcq, 0.

Just relax and give your brain a break, trust me on this.

I agree with Another85. I would do a quick study session the day before, and then take the rest of the day off. Have a nice dinner, go to bed at a reasonable time, and take the exam first thing in the morning.

Determined I think that's a good plan. It really depends on the person. I know some people take it easy, while others hammer it out to the bitter end. I did as many MCQs until the day before the exam and read my notes and then re-read notes in the car right before. I wouldn't stay up late studying or anything like that…just study all day and call it quits at a decent time, relax and get a good nights sleep. Wishing you the best of luck!!

Determined, not sure if you saw this recent post but I found some very useful tips here as well…like Lilla said some people need help with their short term memory.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I think I am confident about government accounting, it fees like I beat it to death lol. I'll prolly still do the 2 random sims just because I'm a superstitious person. For all the sims I've done this week, I've had some idea how to do them, and I hope I can keep this trend up including on the actual exam. 🙂

I take the exams on saturdays, take friday off work, crank through concepts/big picture items and key formulas all day, then take the exam saturday afternoon, going over key items / areas where seeing something right before could mean grabbing points quickly and saving time for the SIMS (my weak area). Most don't think this works well, but it seems to solidify everything I've put in up to reviewing that week. This ‘review week' allows for hitting any areas i identified as ‘weak' while going through studying, hitting those all week and hammering the key points for a day and a half before the exam. This means i've completed initial workthrough of all chapters starting my review week. Granted, I work Big 4 hours so sometimes have to go through chapters quickly in weeks where urgent things come up. So far I'm 2/3 with this approach hoping to go 3/4 tomorrow!

@Determined – For those who have struggled with this exam like myself, I would say study the topics you are “weaker” on the day before. I usually take my exams on Saturday and relax the day before. For REG attempt #5, I am going to stop doing MCQs/SIMs and just focus on getting “weaker” topics down. There is something about relaxing the day before that does give you more energy on exam day though…

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 75
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76

Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...
