How should I devote my time w/ 3 days to go?

Taking BEC on Thursday…ahhh! I am so nervous. I’ve started slacking, definitely, because I just don’t know what to study. I figure I either know it by now or I don’t. I took the Becker Final Exam #1 this morning, here are my scores:

    T1: 100

    T2: 91

    T3: 83

Several of the ones I missed were because I didn’t RTFQ. I took the second final exam in Becker last week and got 79, 75, 83. I feel like I am as ready as I’ll ever be, though some of the information doesn’t feel as easy to recall as it used to. Is this natural? Should I do MCQs, read, sit on my hands?!?! I am just so ready to get this over with. Thursday at 1PM! Any last minute advice? Thanks 🙂

    BEC: (4/2012) 88
    AUD: (5/2012) 91
    REG: (8/2012) 82
    FAR: (1/2013) 78 🙂

Your high scores indicate you have a solid grasp of the material. If I were you, I would look over fringe material in IT and go over corporate governance. The real test seemed to have more concept questions than Becker.

    BEC - 84
    AUD - 83
    FAR - 82
    REG - 81

Thanks, MIA. So you used Becker? How do you feel it prepared you for the test? I am concerned about COSO/IT sections because of how heavily I heard they are tested. I am definitely going to go over these sections again.

I used Becker and Wiley test bank. Becker did a good job of hammering down the key concepts. If you're doing well on those, the actual test questions will seem simplistic.

At this point you have the “meat” of the material down so just focus on the details. GL!

It looks like you have the material down. Because of that, I would spend the last few days studying for your next section. Hahah just kidding. You can do that after the exam.

I would hit up all of the questions you got wrong and the sections you feel you're the weakest at. Read the sections again then do the problems. I would practice the research and practice the writing if you have not done so yet.

Thanks, y'all! I have been studying COBIT all day. I absolutely hate it, it's so boring. Was time management an issue for either of you? Just curious.

@Keelydare1, I averaged a 71 on my first Becker final for BEC and a 66 on the second and I felt they were extremely hard. I ended up with an 80 on the actual exam. In my opinion, you did extremely well on those tests and a guarantee you will pass with a high score because you obviously know the material pretty well. As far as the time management thing goes, just know how long it generally takes you to do three written communications exercises and make sure you budget your time for those during the test. For me, I knew that it took me roughly 50-55 minutes to write three responses and proof read them so I made sure I was on track to leave me at least 50 minutes to do them. Good luck!

    BEC - Feb 2012: 80
    AUD - Feb 2012: 84
    FAR - Apr 2012: 78
    REG - May 2012: 90

    Thanks Becker!

@keelydare1 – what are you using to study COBIT? I'm using Wiley and there is not much listed. Please share.

Hi, fljazzchic. I am using Becker. To be honest, there's not much listed here either. It's very short and to the point. I am going over the governance objectives, 7 business requirements for information, and the 4 domains. That's really all Becker has to say about it. Is that on par with Wiley?

@keelydare1 – yes that's all Wiley provides. It's a large part of the exam but most of the information is very conceptual or theory but you take the exam and the questions or very specific.

    Good Luck!!!

I would also do cpareviewforfree.com questions and old AICPA released questions as well.
