How soon for next exam after 72 on FAR?

Found out I got a 72 on FAR after 5 weeks of study. It serves no purpose to sulk so I am getting straight back into studying now. I am confident that I can achieve a score 3 points higher with an extra 3 weeks of reviewing my weaker areas and drilling MCQ. I am thinking I am going to schedule on October 3rd which is 23 days away so that I’ll have time to study and take AUD in late November. Would you recommend extra time for FAR or is this a good plan?

@Hokie — First of all, nice win for your hokies in the shoe.

Secondly, and unfortunately, I am in the exact same scenario as you except that I found out I made a 72 on FAR the prior score release. I've already scheduled it for October 3rd as well.

My methodology: I'm just about finished going through the entire CPAExcel online text and MCQs again. I'll likely be finished by tonight or tomorrow. Now, that leaves me 23 days (as you pointed out) to hammer MCQs using my supplementary Gleim test bank and CPA Review For Free. I'll place extra emphasis on my weaker areas like bonds & pensions.

Being so far out from the test and so close at the same time I'm cognizant not to burn out on MCQs. I find it highly effective to work them in short “bursts” of 15-20 at a time.

Thanks–that game was fantastic! I'm glad you pointed that out first as it is clearly more important than this CPA exam haha. We better not have a letdown against ECU. Football season is the one saving grace right now but then again it'll make it even harder to stay focused on the weekends.

I'm trying to jump right back into doing MCQ but it's brutal. Especially now that work has gotten more intense. I'm thinking I might just take tonight off and relax and then get to it tomorrow. I just feel like 23 days is such a long time but I know it'll fly by. I wish I could take the test next week. You're right on about the burning out with MCQ–doing them for 3 hours a night like I was in the days leading up to my first exam would drive me crazy.

Let's knock the exam out this time! I'm pretending that I need an 85 to pass.

May I join you in the boat? Got a 64 (but I can fix that) and want to schedule the first week of October also.

Forgive the stupid question, but how did you reschedule so fast? I'm in CA and I think I read on the website that I had to resubmit the application with a fee and get a new NTS to retake a section.

Am I out in left field here? How did you reschedule and what state(s) are you in?

    Thanks,

    AUD - 80
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 80
    REG - 80
    3 years

    + 16 tests

    + 2 expired sections

    = DONE FOREVER!

    AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake
    FAR 64,69,67,73,67,73,73,73, August 3
    REG 75 (expired) September 7
    BEC 72, 77

    The adventure continues...

Hi CPA 50, you've got a very high score on AUD. People said take FAR before AUD will help for AUD exam. I failed AUD twice already. I do not know if I should give up AUD and start to study for FAR. You did well on AUD before you take FAR. Any tips to study for AUD? thank you!

CPA50, I haven't officially rescheduled yet. As soon as I saw my score though, I registered for a re-test and am waiting to pay and receive my NTS (I am in VA). I am hoping this is more timely since it is a retake and they have all of my initial information on record but I could be wrong. Once I get my NTS, I will immediately look to schedule for early October.

I attempted studying last night but it was draining. I jumped straight back into MCQs and had a hard time focusing (which I never really did during my 5 weeks before my first test) and felt like I was rusty on most of the topics, even ones that I was previously confident with. It's amazing what you can lose in 2 weeks. If only it were that easy to retain it haha.
