I actually just called them. Thought I’d share the wealth.

The policy is a max 90 day extension, but, they only extend it to ONE day after your scheduled exam time. If you call them, within 5 minutes, they will e-mail you a “request for a copy of your prometric confirmation”. You reply with a copy of your Prometric confirmation e-mail.

The courtesy extension may only be requested once per license. So if I push back my exam to, say, another month later, I’m out of luck for having already requested an extension.

– Have an exam scheduled within 1-3 months from the original software expiration date

– Have not been granted a courtesy extension in the past for the same year’s material.

-Have purchased your course and/or materials within the United States or a non-partner country.

To request an extension, please reply via this email with a PDF or scanned copy of your scheduling confirmation from Prometric. Your approval will be processed in 24-48 business hours. We will reply with instructions on how to extend your software program.

I didn't either! So glad I stumbled across this forum. I've learned so many helpful things just from reading other people's experiences.

Also, my extension got approved:

You have been granted a one-time courtesy extension of your REG software until 1-18-15

*Please note the software extension will either go until the day after your scheduled exam or 3 months from the original expiration date. Which ever comes first.

You can view your new expiration date by selecting “help” and then “about” in the upper right corner within your software.

Hi Martin, my license expires next Thurs at 1/15 actually… I got a 3 day extension haha.

What I did wrong was I did the MCQs and SIMs once, then proceeded to memorize the textbook. Come exam time I couldn't make sense of what I had memorized. I'll be honest, if I found Another71.com and read all the helpful tips, I would have probably known to value the MCQs, but I didn't :

The final time I did nothing but reread each chapter one time, then do MCQS (and SIMs, but not more than once more). The next day I would repeat the same MCQs I did the day before, then do the ones for the new stuff. Once again, I only spent a week. I also skipped Chapter 6 of the Becker review…. After taking it 4 times I didn't find it productive to study that Chapter again. I also skipped the statistics lessons.

By the time I got to the exam, I thought every question was just a rephrase of the test bank questions. The MCQs also taught me how to spot “trick” questions, which I would have never figured out on my own. I blew through the 4 hour exam in less than 2 hours!

Basically…. I actually used the software the last time instead of taking it for granted and underestimating the exam :(!

s2sylvir, thanks for the great Audit tips. You should have scheduled FAR 3 months from 1/15, so that you could use the 3 month extension for FAR as well. Becker only wants a copy of your prometric exam schedule,so I guess you can always reschedule to 3 months after Becker expires and just send them that as proof.

I knooow but it's right into tax season! I doubt I'd be able to concentrate (I also have wushu practice 4 times a week, which I've stopped doing for a month to study).

OH that's another thing. I never put the exams before anything else. I recommend for the last 2 weeks before an exam to put studying above everything else except work. I apologize if I'm repeating things you already know. I don't know your progress, so not sure if you've taken any parts or even passed all of them already!

I just submitted a request for a FAR NTS. I'm gonna see if I can't get Becker extended for FAR (I wasn't sure if it's 1 courtesy extension per part, or just 1 overall — though it seems like it's per part).

FYI, they also have a live chat if you don't want to talk in person. I just chatted with a representative and they extended my software just like the OP.
