I know I just need 75 but I failed once and this time I want to prepare as perfect as possible.

I see some people got 99 and wonder how they studied? Any tips?

I thought I knew the material thoroughly but failed with 64.

This time I am using Ninja MCQ and I am getting high 70’s already. I am retaking the exam in early Aug.

So if I improve Ninja score to 90’s do you think I can pass this time?

Candidates who scores 99 have time machines allowing them to go back into the past to correct their mistakes that they have made on their AUD exams.

I honestly feel like it would be a lot more doable to harness the psychic abilities necessary to select the correct answers than to study my way to a 99.

Unfortunately there isn't some big secret that people who get 99's all share. You need to study the material and work the practice MCQs.

Also, basic test taking strategy will help you out a good amount. 60% of the exam is multiple choice, which means the correct answer is given to you. You don't always need to know if off the top of your head. You do however need to know enough to weed out the obviously incorrect answers and get down to the 1 or 2 remaining choices. Avoid answers that have absolutes (Always and Never) when possible, unless you are positive that is the correct choice.

If you can begin to think like the test creators, you'll have a better chance at understanding why they are putting certain statements into each MCQ. Doing that will make it much easier to eliminate any remaining distractors. Keep an eye out for buzzwords (if a question states or implies anything to do with managing, or management responsibilities, more often than not an Auditor is NOT allowed to perform those duties).

Also (and this part is very important), there is a bit of luck involved in scoring a 99. I don't think anyone has truly mastered all of the material tested on any section of the exam. If you're lucky, the stuff you don't know or don't know well will not show up.

Make sure you are familiar with the authoritative literature/standards. I don't mean memorizing different sections, I mean being able to navigate to material and use the search function effectively. I had at least 2 SIMs that the full answer was provided in the authoritative literature. Using the search function I was able to basically copy paste the correct answer into the SIM response box. This had nothing to do with my understanding the material and everything to do with my being able to search effectively.

    Hope that helps

I still think candidates having a time machines is still the most logical reason.

For me it was having worked in audit for 10 1/2 months as of the time I took the exam. It was my last and I was pretty burnt out so I studied basically one week and two weekends. Also switching my exam time from Saturday to Monday helped, giving me that second weekend to study. Really though, for ten months I had been reading engagement letters and audit/review/compilation reports and performing some of each so I was familiar with the terminology.

I would also kind of say don't bother practicing or studying simulations. I feel this way in general with all the sections, as they can take such various forms that you are unlikely to get any real benefit to practice and are just an extension of the theory. Especially with audit though, if you can get the material down and get good with the mcq you will have more than enough time to look up everything you need for the sims. Unlike the other sections where even if you know the material inside and out there is going to be a lot of time taken on calculations during the mcq, with AUD if you know it you can breeze through them. I think I was done with the MCQ in about 50 minutes and simply looked up all the sims in the literature. It felt almost like cheating and I still finished with about an hour to spare.

    Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, Hari! You left out where you got the time machine, though. Skynet and I would like to know.
