I found some notes on how to pass in 20 days. I don’t remember when I wrote this down but can it be used to pass FAR?

I have Cpaexcel and wiley books and test bank with ninja notes and audio. I cannot for the life of me get into cpaexcel. Then the wiley books seem to be too much reading. Frustrated, I ran across these notes…..please help. I know there is no easy way to pass but OMG, the more I read seems like the more I have to read. My goal is to take far either 1/31 or 2/9.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader.....time to pass

I passed FAR and REG this last November with about 2 weeks study time for each. I used Gleim and did multiple choice questions until there were none left to do :). I think all my tests were passed with about 14-21 days of prep so you can do it!

    FAR - PASSED 11/2009 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    REG - PASSED 1/2011 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    AUD - PASSED 5/2011
    BEC - PASSED 11/2011
    ETHICS - PASSED 12/2012

How did you manage to fit in all the information in 2 weeks and pass!! I studied for a month for BEC and felt so confident about the material and still failed with a 70!!! I am retaking BEC again on 1/8 and studied full time for 2 weeks. ANd I begining to panic because I think maybe I didnt put in enough time. I do feel prepared and studying this second time around, I feel more confident. There are however a few questions on each chapter that I will get wrong (the really detailed stuff), I am using Becker.I have 2 little kids and its been so brutal for all of us. I have only seen them for about 2 hours a day this past 2 weeks. I will be so mad if I fail again because I will just think about the sacrifices my kids/family had to make so I could fail again.

I would love to hear any tips you have to share.

Honestly both the exams I passed in November were sections that I had previously passed and had expired on me so it was the second time around which always helps. I have a Masters in Tax so that probably contributed to my ability to quickly turn around REG. I feel like the more mutiple choice you do the better you'll be – I didn't do any lectures for the November exams, just GLEIM MCQs until I was having dreams about the FAR and REG material. I swear that month was worse than busy season.

For what it's worth I thought that FAR and REG were easier exams for me than AUD and BEC – I'm not confident I could've knocked out AUD and BEC back to back in a month.

I know how tough it is to balance the cram with life/work/sanity….I work full time in public accounting and as a tax guy November is probably one of the better months to take on a couple exams, but I still had a 3/31 YE consolidated c-corp to get through during that time.

    FAR - PASSED 11/2009 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    REG - PASSED 1/2011 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
    AUD - PASSED 5/2011
    BEC - PASSED 11/2011
    ETHICS - PASSED 12/2012

Prior to finding this website, I also heard and thought that Becker was the best study material. However

so many people from A71.com use other sources (Gleim, Wiley) and pass with those materials. And it seems

as though more people pass with non- Becker stuff.

Have u ever used Becker? How similar are the Gleim, or Wiley mcq to exam?

I am debating whether I should pick up another source of MCQ. I have been using Ninja audio & notes for BEC

    and Becker as well.

vt7 – I've used Becker – Deloitte provided the materials when I first started out in public accounting. I didn't see great success with it – I passed REG the first time with it but used Wiley to pass FARand AUD the first time. Having said that I know many folks that used Becker and had great success. Fact of the matter is that its the biggest name out there, and carries the biggest cost. I don't know if I ever would've used the Becker materials if Deloitte didn't pick up the tab. For my money Gleim and Wiley are fine and a lot less expensive.

    REG - PASSED 1/2011 - EXPIRED, PASSED 11/2012
