Hey I have my FAR exam tomorrow. Its my last exam and I’m already nervous about it. Now they’re predicting snow for the Raleigh area and obviously the question of “what if prometric is closed tomorrow” came to mind… Any ever had their exam cancelled on them at the very end of a window? What are my options exactly? Is it even possible to reschedule for like the monday after the window closes because of the inclement weather? Or am I screwed into not being able to take it for another month?!?!? Please let me know if you know what is supposed to happen in this scenario.

    Thx

    Matt.

In order to reschedule your cancelled exam (due to weather), you will need to use the Schedule link on Prometric (not the Reschedule link) in case you can't get through to Prometric. It will say no money is to be charged.

Do not use the Reschedule link because it will tell you that you can't reschedule (on or after the original test date) or it will try to charge you (on the day you were told that the test was cancelled).

Don't worry. If it happens, they would extend the window into the blackout month for a few days or a week iirc.

sometimes NASBA will extend the window for a few days, they either do it for everybody or nobody at all. They will not select certain people/cities/states to make exceptions for, unfortunately. Keep watching for announcements about the window extension, prometric closings, and rescheduling options.

I had my exam cancelled on Sunday due to snow.. Luckily there was a spot open (today) for me to reschedule. However if there are no spots you will pretty much be out of luck. I'm pretty sure if they would've extended the window, they would've done so already so I wouldn't bank on that happening. Kind of surprised they didn't with all the snow in NE.

I would look around now for openings on Friday around your area. I found out my center was cancelled before they sent me an email and rescheduled it.. Paid the $80 fee but submitted a reimbursement form on prometric.com

They don't necessarily announce that they open up new dates, though, so it is probably worth it to keep checking the Prometric schedule just in case! Just for anyone reading and wondering about it.

My FAR exam is scheduled for Friday and of course I'm in Richmond, VA where a forecast of 4-8″ of snow by tomorrow means that all of the local schools and some businesses are already closed for tomorrow. If we actually get the potential 8″ they're calling for, I'm thinking there's about a 90% chance that our Prometric will be closed on Friday because things around here are a mess days after even a minor snow storm. As a native Pennsylvanian who has lived in Virginia for the past 10 years, I am still both amused and frustrated by the local reaction to what I consider relatively small amounts of snow.

Oh, and of course our Prometric doesn't offer Saturday appointments so a reschedule at the same Prometric isn't going to happen this quarter without an extension if they are closed on Friday. Here's to hoping they do extend the window if this new storm system causes havoc in the southeast this week!

Fingers crossed they extend. Just got notice my exam for tomorrow has been canceled because they have closed the testing center because of the snow that is predicted. Ugh.

The email says to go to the prometric site to reschedule, but it's not working. :/ guess I'll call in the morning to see when then can fit me in.
