I can't decide if to cancel Reg

I have it on the 22nd and I’m not the least bit ready. Although I heard there is a big curve this testing window because a lot of tax people fail it. Also I heard the fee is only 35 bucks to reschedule but it sounds like a pain to reschedule

I realy don’t wanna lose the money failing the test and I hate dragging this on. I only have 4 more testing windows after this one to take Far and Reg and I know Regs gonna be really tough. I’m also not even in public accounting so I don’t even care that much at this point I’m almost tempted to walk away and give up because the CPE stuff sounds like a real pain. Only reason I want to become a CPA is for taxes and this REG material is so hard I’m having second thoughts.

How big of a pain is rescheduling and should I reschedule or just go for it? I got really distracted this testing window with a bunch of things.

Rescheduling isn't that bad. I have done it more times then i want to count. Don't give up you are half way done! If you aren't ready move to the 28 ( if you can get that date) or the first day in April!

    Good luck!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I would reschedule. I rescheduled my AUD section from 2/27 to 4/1 due to year end and not having any time to study. It wasn't hard to reschedule took me about 3 minutes. Good luck!!

What do you mean a big curve? I didn't think they ever curved it

Yeah I just rescheduled it to the 13th. I have an audit engagement in march anyways that I can use to study with since I'll be in a hotel room most the time. It wasn't that bad. I still am tempted just to give up on all of this though if I fail. CPEs sound like a huge pain and I can't imagine having to retake BEC or AUD again.

CPE requirements aren't that bad…if you Google, you can find all sorts of online CPE that's cheap and quick. I took some online CPE for my RTRP (before the IRS did away with it) that also qualified for CPA CPE and it was a piece of cake! I used APlusCPE for my RTRP CPE and it took barely any time at all. I think officially CPE is supposed to take 1 hour for each hour (kinda a “duh” I know 😛 ), so even if it took that long, it's still less than an hour a week! But the online ones are even quicker than that. It's not that expensive either…I just Googled for about 3 minutes and found one of these unlimited places for $300, unlimited access for 1 year. My plan is to use one of these and get it 6 months before my CPE deadline, do the CPE for the 2 years that are almost ended, then after the year changes, do the CPE for hte 2 years just starting – that way, for $300, I get CPE for 4 years! And it seems like I found somewhere cheaper when I looked before…I'm thinking it was like $120-150 for unlimited.

However, having to retake on of the exams that you already passed would be disappointing. 🙁 I can definitely understand that! But hopefully April 13 is a winner for you, and then you just have 1 left!

Your better off rescheduling because your confidence and 200 dollars is on the line.Good Luck!

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

I would reschedule it and make sure that you really use the time to study and be a very comfortable with the REG exam.

Practice is very important. You need to do the questions at least twice or more. Read explanation why it is write and others are wrong etc.

Failing is hard but look around this forum.

There are people who had to take this exam 7 times each section before they got through. They didn't give up. I personally am having a hard time with REG but I won't give up no matter how many times I have to take these exams. One day I will beat them and get to the finishing line.
