I don't know what to make of my BEC experience

Hi everyone! I’ve been a long time lurker around the forums. I’ve passed REG, waiting for FAR results on 8/24, and I just took BEC yesterday. Out of the three I’ve taken, BEC is the one I’m most perplexed by as far as what I studied and what ended up being on my exam. I’m trying not to psych myself out because I still need to focus and study for Audit, but I was hoping to get another perspective.

I can’t really gauge if I got a hard testlet. I studied all of the different calculations in the Cost Accounting and Finance portions with Becker and had them down. However, I only got probably 2-3 calculation-type questions in each testlet. I felt like I had a lot of IT questions where you either know the term or you don’t.

I didn’t feel confident leaving REG but I ended up with an 86, so I’m just going to hope for the best when the score results come. It just sucks to have studied so hard and to feel like I lost easy points.

don't worry too much. I felt the same when I took BEC and let me say it was very ramdom ! anyhow I left feeling I had failed but it turned out to be a 82. Now, if you have some time just start studying for Audit. You been there, done your part, so just hope for the best!

    Good luck!

I can honestly never tell if a testlet is hard or easy. I've asked, but I still can't tell on my testlet.

All I can do is wait and see my score, but honestly all my scores seem so random haaha

Have to agree here with vannessa I've never been able to tell either- and my BEC exam was so random that even a week letter I couldn't tell you how i thought I did on it… I agree what ended up on my exam seemed completely weird and while not out of left field just I don't know not what I was expecting to be tested on if that makes sense…

The best you can do is try not to obsess over it (I know easier said than done) because you just never do know until scores are release (Oh GOD CAN NEXT WEEK JUST BE HERE ALREADY!!! 🙂 ) Good Luck!

And they ask me why I drink

    BEC 71, 82
    AUD 75
    REG 75
    FAR 61, 69, 83

and they ask me why I drink...

FAR- 61-next time I'll ask for lube instead of a calculator
REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade
    BEC- 8/11
    AUD- 9/2

I had a similar experience as you did, and I passed with 77, which I believe was hugely affected by my poor writing skill.
I think it's really hard to tell whether you passed it or not because of the large percentage of pretests.

    BEC: 77 (7/12/2016)
    REG: 84 (8/17/2016)
    FAR: 86 (10/27/2016)
    AUD: 74, 82 (11/10/2016)

    BEC 7/12 - PASS
    REG 8/17
    AUD 9/8
    FAR 10/15

This is gonna be a long weekend until score release

Hey guys, I recently took Bec on Wednesday, it was my last exam. I thought each testlet got harder, and had more advanced calculations. COSO and IT was very strange though. I felt no matter how hard I studied, I still wouldn't be prepared for those questions. I am hoping I didn't have a comma misplace or make a small grammatical error. Does anyone know how strict they are when it comes to grading written communication?

    AUD - 86
    BEC - 89
    FAR - 75
    REG - 79
    B#### Don't Kill My Vibe

    AUD 5/27/16 74 &#%!! 7/13/2016 86!
    BEC 8/17/2016
    FAR 11/04/2015 73, 1/4/2016 75 (phew!)
    REG 2/26/2016 74. 4/2/2016 79
