    Hi guys,

So this was my score, and I finished about an hour and 20 minutes early.

My issue here is that sometimes when I do a problem, my solution is by elimination or making an educated guess after throwing away least-likely choices. (I’m a good test-taker for MCQs based on my experience with GMAT and GRE, but if you give me a problem with no MCQ, I might mess up).

Is that what I’m supposed to do on exam day? I noticed that Becker choices are ones that you can logically figure out- for example you always can work the problem a multiple times and arrive at one of the multiple choices that would make sense arithmetically.

My exam is on Thursday and I’m freaking out as I told you before. 🙂

I think you will find that when you are taking the exam you usually spend more time on the SIMs looking up stuff in the AL just to make sure, than you did during the practice. At least in my experience this has been the case. That being said you may end up using another whole hour without even realizing it when you are doing your SIMs.

I hardly ever go back a second time on MCQ because I don't want to second guess my first instinct – Unless another question has clued me in to the fact that I answered an earlier question wrong.

I think you should just do what you did with the practice exam. I know people have a lot of theories as to how you should take your exam – but do what works for you, And what you're doing seems to be working!

thanks for your input, but what's the AL? you mean the research codification? I heard that sims on the real exam are harder than Becker, is that true?

You can use the same strategy on the actual exam. Most of the questions I was unsure about, I was able to eliminate at least one of the answers. With your practice exam scores, I'd say you are ready to sit. Good luck!

The process of elimination is definitely helpful for questions where you are unsure. If you have time, I'd suggest learning why the right answer is right and wrong answers are wrong for the questions where you are having to use elimination methods, and particularly if you notice that you have a weak area overall.

Take a deep breath… you can do this. You are not alone in finding MCQ easier to answer than SIM type questions. If you know the information to be able to answer MCQ's, then you have a great shot at SIMS.
