I live my life in testing windows

I started my journey to becoming a CPA over 3 years. I had just left a local accounting firm after being there 3 1/2 years for an opportunity to work for a Big 4 firm (KPMG). Idiotically, I thought it would be a great idea then to start studying for the exams. My first attempt was with AUD. I was a little relaxed about studying and didn’t give the exam the time or respect it deserved to earn myself a passing score. I failed with a 64. I then attempted BEC and studied every night for at least 3 hours. I failed with a 71. I flip flopped between taking AUD and BEC but my studying was never enough until I left public accounting and got into government and could have a set study schedule. Thankfully, I have passed 2 exams but still have 2 to go. My deadline to pass the rest expires November 30, 2014. I just want to be done and live day to day and not in testing windows or what module I’m studying that night!!

    B – 71, 71, 75

    A – 64, 69, 71, 85

    R – 8/30/2014

    F – 73, re-take 7/18/14 waiting on score

    I feel your pain.

There hasn't been a day gone by in the past six months that I haven't had to explain to friends that I can't go somewhere or do something because I am studying for the CPA.

I think they are as tired of hearing those three letters as I am of basing my life around this thing.

Just follow the advice of others on this forum who have passed, and of course…don't give up!

It's a difficult journey, but definitely worth it.

@brittpone123, I am in almost the exam same position as you timeline wise.

I have Aud and Bec passed. Just took FAR 7/19, and taking Reg 8/30.

My Aud score exprires Decemeber 2014. Hopefully we both clear these two exams this window and don't have to worry about it anymore. I will be freaking out next window if I have to take any part again…it will be so much pressure.

@Charlie – They're tired of hearing it as much as we're tired of saying it! My sister has passed the exam so she's been really supportive and understanding. Someone I can talk to at least.

@Disco Stu – I know if I don't pass FAR I still have one more chance to pass – but I might have a nervous breakdown by then LOL.

Studying in the summer time is by far the worst but we haven't had a great summer here in southeastern MA so I'm happy haha!
