Oh man, I just went on prometric and they have a spot open 9/6, I cant decide if the extra days will really help, or if I should bite the bullet, take it, and if I need to retake it October isnt that far off….hmmmm.

How did everyone find out about the extension? I looked in NASBA's website but they didnt mention it. Hmm…I didnt check the AICPA site…

    BEC - passed 4/12

Hey, that's awesome. God answered your prayer by sending a hurricane to destroy a bunch of people's houses and stuff so you could study another week.

I usually try to stay very neutral on this board, but what a ridiculously selfish thing to say. I'm sure the people with all their earthly belongings under water would probably disagree that God had anything to do with the extension of an exam testing window. Congratulations, though, maybe you are just the world's most important person. Lucky you!

Keely unfortunaely those who don't live in hurricane zones just don't understand. Their focus is the exam and not what others are dealing with. I live in Florida so we live with it constantly.

I'm pretty sure mycpa was only saying that s(he) is thankful for another week despite the horror that others are facing due to the hurricane. I agree that sometimes we can get so caught up in ourselves that we may say or do some things that are insensitive. Let's gently correct and move on!

@mycpa: Let's be more mindful of others feelings. But I understand what you were trying to get across.

All aboard, this train's leaving. Next stop, TBD!

@Keely, Again I am thankful to God for the extra time. Now do you want to switch the topic and talk about the hurricane? I feel like anyone in this country or on this board who wishes the safety of everyone and their loved ones. Your accusations were not necessary and uncalled for. You defined me by one sentence I wrote after you added some coloring to it. Give people the benefit of the doubt sometimes instead of all these accusations. You witched this discussions from something positive, to something very negative. Finally, If I offended anyone, I am really sorry. It was not intended at all.

Honest question, not being snarky. How is it switching the topic to talk about the hurricane. No hurricane = no extension on the testing window, so isn't it one and the same?

The answer to your question is most likely 5 days after whenever the testing window closes. I think the window closes on September 8th. I don't know if it's business days or not.

I don't even know why you would waste the money to push it out a week if the hurricane didn't affect you. As far as I'm concerned, if you end up passing in a week you probably were going to pass anyway and vice versa. An extra few days, other then building up some false confidence, isn't going to add much to your current knowledge base. At this point, you either know it or you don't……

so you think that another 4 days of studying @10 hrs a day (40hrs) won't help someone get that extra MCQ? it is just “building up some false confidence”?

If you put in enough studying per day, an extra week can make a big difference. I was seriously considering pushing mine back a week (Nevada resident) but decided against it and took the plunge earlier today.

I have to agree. Two days is HUGE for me. It's the difference between being able to do MCQs on cost and IT and going in without them.
