This process have dragged out for the past 2 years and I have repeatedly failed AUD and FAR. I think I failed AUD again. My BEC credit expires on 8/31/15, and honestly, I don’t want it to drag it out. If I fail both the attempts I just took in April and the attempt at the end of May, then I think it’s time to call it quits. No point in wasting my time with this any longer.

Don't give up just yet! you have to be confident in yourself. You passed 2 on your first try so you can surely pass the other two! Make sure your really understanding the material. It's quality over quantity! and utilize the study groups they are a great help. I know they have helped me immensely when something didn't make sense. Your not doing this alone we are all here to help each other.
April 22, 2015 at 1:26 am #662680AnonymousInactiveThese are my scores. They could be high because I understood the material better or because I am memorizing the questions. I only did 530 Ninja MCQ because I tried to spread out the MCQ I did between Ninja, Roger, and Wiley so to get as many new questions so to reduce the chance of coming across one I have already seen before. Also, I refreshed my Ninja MCQ so even though I did less than half it's possible that I have seen all of them at least once. SO that is why I wanted to spread out the MCQ I did amongst various software.

April 22, 2015 at 1:27 am #662681fsugirl2005ParticipantMake sure your head is clear. Make sure you're getting enough exercise. Make sure you're not depressed. Do not underestimate these things. If you have too much going on in your life that is distracting, it will derail your studying focus. I have been there and done that. I honestly don't think it's because you're not studying enough, there are probably other things going on that is interfering in the effectiveness of your studying.
Look into it.

Your mcq should be in the THOUSANDS!! you need to start from scratch and re-learn everything. You won't get the same exam the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time around. Even though you seen a mcq months ago and got it right doesn't mean you will get it right today. Maybe that's the issue your having…. only doing 530 isn't enough doesn't matter if it's your 1st take or 100th re-take.
April 22, 2015 at 2:11 am #662683Last Chance CPAParticipant@determined – at least get to your 18 month window expiry for BEC. I know that will mean having to study during the summer, but you will regret it if you don't. I have one more try at REG before FAR expires, and then I will quit the CPA. I will not in any shape or form take FAR ever again…ever…again. BUT we owe it to ourselves to give it our best effort within the 18 month window. I hopefully will pass REG in this window, so won't even need to try it one last time in July (FAR expires end of July)…
Just think it through…

If you need to take a break so be it, if you need to re-think your strategy so be it, but quitters always fail.
We all admit that this is a grueling, tedious process of which no one enjoy failing,re-testing, expiring scores or long study hours but quitters always fail. If quitting is all you have left then so be it, but at least try one more time. For your family sake, future employment, for your current investment of money and time, for your self esteem, at least try it one more time.

Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to passApril 22, 2015 at 3:05 am #662688govtecMemberIt took me almost exactly 2 years from the time I ordered the material to passing the last exam. I failed each part once, except for AUD and failed BEC twice in the beginning. Through it all, what I learned was it's not the amount of time you put in or how many MCQ's you can bang out but the quality of consistent study time each night made a huge difference to me after I failed BEC multiple times. After passing BEC I stuck to the same formula of consistent nightly quality study time and commitment and never failed more than one time for each section. Even if you are able to complete 1,000 MCQ, what good does it do if you do not understand the other 3 incorrect answer choices.

Passed 6 of 6 CLEP ExamApril 22, 2015 at 3:13 am #662689howmany74sMemberI passed the exams in 3.5 years after multiple tries, after everyone said:
-Maybe it is not for me
-Maybe it's because English is not my native language
-Maybe accounting is not for me and I should think of something else
-Maybe I should consider drug use to enhance my attention (or lack of it)
If I can do it, anyone can do it. Especially you can, since you're determined to succeed.
April 22, 2015 at 3:40 am #662690PerlinatorMemberDetermined…you have two scores above an 80. You not only passed these sections, you understood them. You are entirely capable of passing Audit audit and Financial. Depending on how you feel about FAR May 31, I would continue to study it until the beginning of Q3. Use that extra couple months to shoot for a 90 and then settle for the 75 and then give Audit a go on your last possible date to take it before losing credit. But you are absolutely more than able to pull it through.
April 22, 2015 at 4:01 am #662691ScarletKnightCPAParticipantHave you done 3,000 to 4,000 multiple choice questions before failing the section? Try hitting 4,000 questions. Try doing at least 100 questions a day in the weeks before the test. I would do a section until I was consistently getting above x% (80 or 90?) and then move on to the next section. When I got through all of them I would circle back and start doing the sections I was weaker in my score.
I would do something like 25-50 in the morning prior to work and during lunch, and 25-75 after work.

April 22, 2015 at 4:52 am #662692REG-FTW86ParticipantYou are half way there! Trade me places, PLEASE!! I have been at this since August 2014 and have yet to pass an exam. Listen to what everyone on here says. I love this forum to keep me motivated and seeing people have the same struggles.
The director of finance who recommended I sit for the exam tells me, “If i can offer any words of encouragement, it's OK to fail as long as you keep your chin up and never lose your focus on the prize.” That's what I keep telling myself. The only problem is failing begins to get expensive, lol.
