Ideas for Studying on a Road Trip?

    Hi everyone!

So I just found out that I will be going on a long (20 hours total) road trip with my family next weekend because of some unexpected circumstances. I’ll be in a car (not driving) with no internet/extended cellular access, so no lectures, NINJA flashcards or MCQs…

Does anybody have any good tips for things I might could do? I’d hate to have all of this time to study and not make the best of it.

    Thanks for your help!

i think you can do flashcards without internet on an ipod or something. you can also listen to ninja aud or rewrite your ninja notes 😀 not to make it a total ninja commercial but you could take your book/note/whatever you have and just rewrite stuff

I had Wiley test bank for my first FAR take, and took my laptop with me on a 2 hour drive to a ski resort, running questions on bonds the entire way (Wiley has an offline feature, or at least it did for the 2013 version.). Not sure how much free time you have between now and then, but you also might think about buying some 3×5 index cards and writing out some flashcards – pick a topic or two or three to focus on if you can't get through them all.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'm using Roger. I have the NINJA flashcards, but I thought the Brainscape app needed cell/WiFi connection? Maybe I can write some on index cards between now and then.

And okay, okay, I will have cell network access – I just said I didn't because I don't have enough data on my plan to use the internet for 20 hours. :p

Do you have an iPhone? Roger just released that MCQ app for Apple. Maybe that could be an option? I haven't been able to check it out because I have an Android phone.

@bronx – I just downloaded it. The app is free with about 30 questions, but it's $50 a section for the full version. It looks like it works without any sort of connection though, so I might make the investment. Thanks for the tip!

Ew, they totally falsely advertised that. They made it seem like it was completely free. Well I can't download it anyway 🙁

You're not missing anything. I worked through all of the “freebie” questions without any connection as a test, but it doesn't even give you any sort of explanation when you miss a question! Yuk.

Sounds like a good time to pony up the forty something dollars, or whatever paltry sum it is, and purchase Ninja notes/audio?

I believe with WTB you can login on your iPad (new version is non flash) and start say a 500 question practice exam. Those questions will load right away, you don't need internet access to answer them and have the right or wrong answer pop up instantly. You can just sit there and power through 999 MCQ's… just dont shut your iWhatever off.

Forgive me if I sound old and crazy here, but do you own any books? I'm guessing your review course didn't come with any, but certainly you must have some relevant materials from college. I know you already took the classes, but I'll bet there is a lot of good information in your old tax and Blaw books that you could benefit from studying. Best of luck to you. 🙂
