I have heard Far referred to as the beast but have not heard of any nick-names for the other three tests…..any thoughts?

"Not all those who wander are lost."

    FAR: I slayed the Dragon!
    BEC: I defeated the Siren!
    AUD: I eliminated Medusa!
    REG: ?????

I hate to burst your bubble, but they're all beasts =) This reminds me of the personality of each test thread from a few weeks ago.

Well, I just received a passing score in FAR (83) and I can tell you this…..My first part was REG and I left the test center and cried (I'm female, if that matters). I left REG with SIMs left incomplete and a feeling of complete failure and disbelief. I scored an 85. Between REG (my first part) and FAR, I took BEC 2X and score a 74 both times. I just cannot figure BEC out….it's a mashup of all the parts and in my narrow mind, I thought it would be the “easier” of them all because of the generality that I placed on it (if that makes sense). I still believe (so far) that FAR is the most difficult because you have to remember not only GAAP, but IFRS as well, 2X the fun. Anyway, I digress. Good luck!

    B: 74, 74

    A: October 2013

    R: 85

    F: 83

I think everyone has their own ‘beast'……. Mine is shaping up to be REG. Each of these exams has beastly qualities……

    Good luck

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

REG was most certainly my beast. Tax was never my strongest subject in college – never liked it, never excelled tremendously at it. Failed REG three times. I loved business law, but for some reason, even that tripped me up a little on that exam. BEC turned out to be my next beast. Didn't have the best Cost Accounting professors in college I guess and never truly loved Finance. I thought Audit would be a piece of cake considering I had worked in Audit for three years and it was my favorite class in college, but even that one threw me for a loop when I got a 74. Nailed Audit the second time though once I finally put my head in the game. FAR has been the only one that I've been able to tackle within minimal trouble for some reason. Passed it twice and lost it twice. Here's hoping that round three is as successful as rounds 1 and 2. Because I'm already very aware of the day my REG expires (over a year from now) because I NEVER want to see that beast again!!!!

they are all beasts in different ways to different people.

if you think that any one section is better than another, you are kidding yourself

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

Lol sonygal, I think the point of your thread was missed. 😉

“Devil” does seem to be pretty well established for Audit. I haven't noticed ongoing terms for REG and BEC, though… If this wasn't the Ninjas forum, I'd go with something more Ninja-like for BEC, since it's considered small, but sneaks up from behind and kills ya. Maybe axe-wielding dwarf would get some of the same idea? lol. I don't know enough about REG to hazard a guess at a nickname…
