The fact that you can't walk out of the testing center knowing your score considering it's graded BY COMPUTER is RIDICULOUS….

That's all I got to say about that….

@ dtomasello The reason you don't get your scores instantly is because they have to weight every question, and the SIMS usually get a human look-over, especially the writing in BEC. If they accidentally make all the exams harder in one quarter they don't want to give you a 73 when it might really be a 77 on an average exam.

    REG (7/7/11) 75
    FAR (7/28/11) 76
    BEC (8/27/11) 81
    AUD (10/15/11, 1/20/12) 63, 91

    DONE!!!

@go2eu – I get you point and it usually goes like that for everything (old folks stories about the hard live back in the day) but this time is actually true for 2011 only. the first 3 quarters of 2011 were the worst in the computerized cpa exam history, as NASBA used us as test monkeys, in which they used one single score release date for each quarter, That didnt happen on any other year before 2011 and wont happen again in the meanwhile.

@herbert7890, apparently i am not aware of that even miserable story, luckily I was not taking test that time. I just could not believe how hard it could be to release score in a more timely manner under today's technology. I took GMAT and CIA, which are also adaptive tests, and can always get the grade right after test. In terms of difficulty, I feel GMAT is harder.

The Enrolled Agent exam (same Prometric site and everything) gives you the results the very moment you press submit (okay after taking a brief survey…which is quite comical because you hold your breath, say a prayer and press submit only to see “Please take a moment and fill out this mandatory survey”). Then you hit submit and bada bing…Congrats or you suck, try again appears.

Yes, I know it would be impossible with the nonsense psychometric bariatric barometric cardiac nonsense scoring system they use today. They could build in their difficulty factors and score for each question ahead of time and create a test which is fair so that throwing out questions wouldn't be a factor. They could still have the sims as well. Maybe have the test scored upon submission for sections where there is writing involved…if the candidate can pass without points from the writing, pass them. If they are too close to pass without the writing, then delay those sections while the artificial humans (accountants) score the results manually.

Of course it could be done but then that would take away their ability to manipulate the results to generate revenue through retakes. Imagine the horror if they made a test in a window and 60%+ of the people passed because they were given a fair shake. Oh the humanity and the horror.
