Failed - 72.
Failed - 72.
sorry glogo so close though! Still waiting, this is nerve wrecking!
I failed too! Here we go again... see you around Marianne and Glogo!
Sorry to hear Stacey. Hopefully we all pass next time! I'm signing up to re-take as soon as possible.
PASSED!! 79 :) working the government/NFP info into submission saved me. Good luck to all.
glogo2384, marianne2, itsmestacey - I'm so sorry everyone!!! :O( At least you know now so you can replan. Still hurts though. I know I have been there many times (sad to say). Gut wrenching!!!!!!!!
tmccarron - Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So sorry gloglo and Congrats tmc. Still waiting with Soanxious for AUD.
Sorry to all who failed (I didn't read the whole wall). Good luck and keep trying. I failed the first time and it was awful. I focused more on government and not-for-profit accounting and that helped a lot.
Waiting to be a CPA - I am starting to wonder if we are ever going to find out. :O(
I know. Did you see? They just released REG. More waiting. I hate my life right now. And if I failed after all this I'm going to be MISERABLE! The thought of sitting through another two months of torture makes me want to cry (not to mention trying to figure out how to study more).
Waiting to be a CPA - I just seen. I want to cry. Friday I was mad, today I want to cry. I just want to know. Torture, this is just torture. I told myself if I didn't pass I would do more practice questions since I spent a lot of time on content. I am going to try to hold of the urge to sit until July though. I need to get FAR / REG under my belt now that I have waited this long. That at least is my reaction now. We will see when and if I ever find out my score.
Another long night of not knowing. So sad! :O(
Sweet- passed with an 86. Better luck next time to those who were tortured over the weekend only to receive bad news
Oh sorry for the confusion, I was referring to my FAR score, haven't taken REG yet
oh glogo, that stinks. i'm so sorry!! good luck on the next go-around.
Waiting to be a CPA - Maybe today will be the day for us??? I took today & tomorrow off to study but I will be glad to be home when I get my results (hopefully). Last time I didn't pass I walked around looking like someone stole my puppy dog. I am so hoping for good news for us!!!
AUDIT - AUDIT - AUDIT
My friend at work yesterday said, can't you just call them and tell them you want your score. I just laughed. Had to be the funniest thing I heard all day!
Illinois REG is up. I passed with an 89 :D
Congrats!!! How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!
To those in IL who have failed... what's your exam strategy and timeline for retaking FAR? I am beyond upset and this is only my first section of my second attempt at the CPA (took 1.5 years off).
itsmestacey - I am so sorry! I have been there and it hurts bad! What program are you using?
My employer is paying for me to take the Northern IL University review courses. So I have all of their materials and access to their "Blackboard" practice quizzes and exams. I also purchased the Gleim software but ran out of time and didn't use it much. My next course begins on April 5 for BEC. So I am thinking I should re-study somehow and sit for FAR again in April, then study for BEC and take it in May. I just feel like I don't know where to begin. After much over-analysis, I think I studied the content TOO much (listening to lectures, reading the materials) and didn't focus on answering the questions. So when it came to the exam, I had a difficult time with some of the MC and felt like I was guessing WAY more than I should have been. (Sigh)
If you came close they say you need to do more practice and reinforce all that content you learned (you know you got the content down). If you were farther off you need to read through your books again and then do practice. :O(
I also use the Wiley book to supplement questions and the Gleim software for supplemental questions & simulations (depending if I am traveling or not -don't want to carry the laptop to use the Gleim stuff). I think FAR is one of them that it takes a lot of practice along with the content. I know NIU has a good program so you have good information, and as hard as it is to pick it up again you have to. I know it feels like someone just stabbed you with a knife straight in the stomach, but you can do it.
I would judge your time based on how much you have to reinforce what you already know. I hope this helps!
KatieLouWho - I just signed up with them also the other day (I forgot). Do you think their questions are more straight forward then the Gleim?
I didn't use Gleim - I used CPAexcel. I think the free questions are just as helpful as the CPAexcel ones. all the study materials i encountered seem to have more difficult questions than whats on the exam. i have a tendency to memorize question real fast, so when I was reviewing in CPAexcel, I wouldn't really have to read the entire question b/c I would remember the answer - which is NOT helpful when you're trying to learn. i used the free questions during my final review since they were all questions i had never seen before. but I think there are GREAT explanations on the free questions.
KatieLouWho - I had the same problem with Becker. Their questions are good for the first pass, and then I know the answer is "c" because I know the question and as much as I try to talk myself out of it being "c" just because I remember it I don't retain what I am supppose to. I started buying supplements because of that. I appreciate the input. I signed up the other day, but I am still working on reveiw so I am going to try some of their questions once I get a little farther. :O)
I am having trouble concentrating today. I stayed home to study, but I really want my score after all this time waiting. I am going to buckle down this afternoon though!
Thanks for the tip KatieLouWho. I registered for the free questions. I really like that you can focus on one topic or do a general test. My plan is to read/skim a topic, answer questions on that topic, take notes on wrong answers, answer more questions on that topic, and then once I get through all topics, take as many "general" exams/testlets as I can.
itsmestacey - It sounds like you have a good plan! I made note cards after I didn't pass the last time of all the questions I missed as I was doing them. I found that when I reviewed them later I felt much better with the content. One day I might have a score to prove it worked, but I know it did help me.
I wish you the best in your studies!!!
sound like a good plan itsmestacey. I tracked my progress on a spreadsheet since they don't track your scores on the free website. Then I could focus on those section I was scoring too low on.
During my last section, I kept my "pink notebook", which I wrote down everything that was pretty much guaranteed to be on the test, equations, memory aids, etc. Then I would review my pink notebook as much as possible - like before bed each night. Good luck!
Can't believe AUD still has not been released. I just can't take it anymore. I have been waiting OVER 2 months for this score. This is my final exam and if I don't pass, I will lose BEC on 4/6/10. PLEASE......let them release it tonight!! I am just not pleasent to be around anymore.
Jeff just posted 6659 AUD CPA Exam scores released by the AICPA - This window is now CLOSED
OMG.....now I am nervous!
ILCPAGirl - I am right here with you!!! The wait has been awful. I am so glad to see they released, but so nervous now. One step closer to that score finally!
If anyone receives their score from IL post here so we know they are releasing! Good luck everyone!!!
Good luck Soanxious! I know this is your first one too!
Any guess when ILBOE will post the score??
CPAwhoME - Actually 7th. I have been at this 2 1/2 years finding out what not to do to sit for the CPA. I took all four parts in '07, then continued to try to pass AUD. I have taken AUD four times now. I repeated a stinky 55 twice of those four. My last attempt in '09 was a bomb (that was the second 55). I did everything wrong, I was so nervous I couldn't sleep, I ran out of time, I didn't hit spell check, I lost my sims points, and my written points - you name it. So I resat on 1/5 after taking two weeks off work and studied morning until night. It was the first time I felt good walking out. This will be a big hurdle for me to get passed if I improved my score and / or passed. It has been a long road of seeing "fail" on my screen so I am really hoping to get passed this one.
I am crossing my fingers for all of us to see "Pass" on your screen!!!
