Anyone else out there waiting for IL scores? I’m waiting on FAR, and a friend is waiting on BEC. Does anyone know how long it takes for the board to post after the AICPA releases? Jeff expects a BEC release from AICPA today. 🙂

I also sent an email to the board to find out if they had received my score or not, just wanted to share their response:

“We did not receive your REG score. It may not be received until mid to late March.”

Looks like wave 2 it is, unless the AICPA does a mini-release tof some more REG scores today… but I'm assuming that if we don't hear anything today, it's safe to say we're in wave 2… man that really gets your mind going though… is it because I'm on the bubble? or is it because you had a new SIM?

I guess we'll find out when we see our scores…

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

glogo2384 – I totally agree and it really stinks that you have had to go through this delay twice. I can't imagine waiting and not passing.

I also have been contemplating all the scenarios in my head. You would think they would have to have some kind of line drawn of what scores are comparable enought to move forward. In my case of bombing this each time some a little better than other tries I would hope this means I got past my “55” then. But I stink on simulations so who knows what this can bring for me.

How many could they possibly need to hold all the way until April anyway, and it says on the cpa-exam.org site they have to released by the first week in the next testing window. I thought about it today from that perspective. If I wanted to reapply, I can't because I can't reapply until I get a score. I looked yesterday to verify and it is not an option on the website. What if I wanted to sit April first or second. Someone in the AUD forum said they called NASBA and NASBA said wave two won't be at least until the first week in April (okay April first is 12 weeks 2 days from my test date – that is insane). Now they might say that because they don't want so many phone calls in March, but… So frustrating. I am a planner so this just kills me.

Waiting to be a CPA – Sorry your stuck with me in wave 2 (most likely)! I am glad I am not alone waiting, but I wish everyone would have gotten their scores today. I am trying to think positive that this can be an excellent thing for all of us.

If we receive too close to my FAR date I just might be too afraid to look though.

Yeah, the only thing to do is to try not to think about it. How did you prep for the exams this past time? Not trying in anyway to insult you, but a score in the 50's means you have a lot of work to do a score in the 60's means you're starting to get the big points, but still have a lot of work to do, a score in the 70's means OK you're getting this stuff, but probably not at the level of most others… My point is, I've never heard of anyone receiving a score below 50… so how did you prep differently this time? For your own sake… it will help when trying to figure out what to expect this go around…

Well, this last time I didn't pass I would have gotten higher score if I didn't bomb my written and my sims. My content went up and I was comparable in two of the three areas, but needed to improve still. I seriously woke up three nights after the test and knew I never hit spell check. I proofread three times, but I know I type fast and was reading through them quickly. That attempt you name “what not to do” and it happened. I ran myself out of time on the sims and filled in blanks just to fill in blanks, I didn't sleep but for two hours the night before. I left at five am for the test (I live outside of the state / city). I should also say I have never came in comparable in the simulaitons – they scare me. :o)

Basically the previous attempts were with Becker. So first, I quit using Becker. It may work for some, but it is not for me. I prefer the more comprehensive study material.

For the 1/5 attempt I didn't have a lot of time. I was scheduled off to do a final review for REG (I was suppose to sit for REG on 1/5). During my time off I read the entire auditing standards (a Wiley book of standards) mostly to follow where I was confused. I wanted to walk through an audit from start to finish (I don't do audit or work in public accouting), I reread my study material twice, and reviewed the sims / practice exam. I did not though in the time I had have a lot of time for practice on the mc. So if they send me back again I hope to be with in 68-74 range and just have to practice the material more.

I felt good walking out of there on 1/5, I had three hard sections and I felt like I could tackle them well. I liked the sims, I felt good about them for the first time. Didn't feel like I was going to have a heart atttack in the middle of them. So…I won't know until whenever if I get my score if what I did worked.

I think my biggest problem with the exam was trying to find a way to study that worked for me. I have read the books, listened to the lectures, did the mc, wrote out the book, read the books again – you name it. It wasn't until I went to a more comprehensive approach that I started putting the pieces together. :O)

Looks like this past time was much better prepared for. Best of luck to you and all of us waiting. This test truly tests mental toughness as much as content.

It sure does. I haven't given up and that is a start. I was an “A” accounting student. It never made sense why I was doing so poorly, but you learn and grow as you go. I will be crushed if my grade comes in the same or less. And I did feel a lot better about this test than any of my previous attempts.

I am hoping the best for all of us & appreciate the support!

I didn't see that. I came in to check if anything happened last night. I checked my score first and of course it is not there. Hopefully they release on Saturday or Sunday in IL again then for those of you wating for REG and not make you wait until Monday. It seems like they are just going to keep trickling in.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
