    Hello everyone,

I recently graduated and now working in private accounting full time. Also, I’ve recently started this long journey of studying for the CPA exam (ohhh headache! I’m not really good at self-study especially seeing the 4 huge books that I have to go through). Don’t ask why I didn’t go public accounting in the first place, because to be honest, I didn’t know what I wanted to do back then. Aren’t we all? That’s the reason why so many student switch majors in the first place. Hopefully after passing my CPA exam, I will then go to grad school, then apply for internship at any of the Big 4. Has anybody been on the same boat as me? Does the Big 4 hire interns who are grad students or is it mostly undergrad that they take as interns? Would like to hear your thoughts….. I need all the inspiration and motivation I can get….. Now back to studying BEC… lol šŸ™‚

I'm not a Big 4 enthusiast, but from what I've read on here, it sounds like they recruit out of both graduate and undergraduate programs. The recruiting sounds like it's “separate” – like they might have 10 openings for grad students and 15 for undergrad, rather than 25 for students as a whole. So, you've definitely still got a shot as you're doing your grad work!

Thank you so much for the input! yea I've also thought about government, but with so many things you hear on the news (ex. budget crisis, etc.), government jobs doesn't seem to be stable as of the moment in my opinion. I actually got an offer from 2 government agencies that I applied after I graduate, unfortunately the first one instead of a FT position they offered me a PT which I declined. The second one, after passing the employment exam and 2 panel interviews they offered me the position “contingent” to the budget. Well, guess what, they had a hiring freeze a month later and haven't heard back from the manager. These are just my experience, hopefully it'll be different with yours! šŸ™‚

Well, wishing you the best of luck @cpa066729 on your upcoming interviews! and thank you @Lilla, I felt a little better with what you've said. šŸ™‚
