    Please fill in the blank.

Im thinking J/E, NFP, Govt, and bond calculations.

Of course you need to be solid all around with all the subject material, but what’s “more” important?

I took FAR in January and can tell you that they tested a wide-variety of topics that spanned across the most topics covered in the study materials.

You just don't know what they are going to through at you. You really need to know as much as you can about everything =( The good news is that they really don't go into the detail of the study materials. If you are comfortable with the really big topics you should be able to pass.

JE and FS are the most likely and easiest to test on the sims.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!

Agree with MaLoTu. My recommendation would be to know something from everything and keep yourself together during the exam. If you want specific items, I would add leases, liabilities and pensions to your list.

My first try at FAR, I watched almost all lectures and did 80% of the MCQ's from all subjects except Gov't and NFP. The second try, I focused on Gov't and NFP and not reviewing in-depth all other subjects. Both times I came close to passing, but needed that extra push to pass.

This time, I plan on doing at least 50% of MCQ's and all Sims for all subject areas up to Gov't and NFP on Becker. Hopefully this will be enough to give me a working knowledge of the basics on all subjects, and allow me to pass the exam. J/E's for Gov't and NFP I feel are essential. Make sure you know those well.

Government. Non profit. Qualities of accounting information. Cash Flow methods.

Dont think so hard about preparing for SIMS, I would say that it is close to impossible to prepare for their sims. You just have to know all of the topics and apply whatever you know and complete the sims

In all seriousness, you really need to know the ins and outs of why the process is there. JE's can help recreate this and get you to that “ah-ha moment”
