Include online masters degree on resume?

I got my masters in accounting from a pretty much unknown online school (accredited) in order to get my CPA. My GPA was really good because it was really easy for the most part. Do you think I should put MS next to my name and my Masters GPA (like below), or is that misleading considering it was an online program? It is a tricky question because it is not lying but I could see someone potentially feeling mislead if they ask where I got my masters and I tell them.

    MY Name, CPA, MS

    M.S. Accounting GPA 3.8

    Licensed CPA!

I would only put a relevant cert by your name and put the degree info below. It's an asset on your resume for sure – just don't put it next to your name.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 80
    FAR - 76
    REG - 92

I did my entire masters online at a state school. The school is primarily brick and mortar but is becoming popular for its online offerings. My resume says I have a masters from SNHU, period. My degree and transcript don't indicate online and neither do I.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Not sure where this dilemma is coming from…. A degree is a degree, you should include it on your resume. Now, if the potential employer doesn't like online programs he/she will ask you to clarify. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

It's YOUR Resume, so you can present it anyway you want…as long as you don't say you have a JD degree too, if you don't 😉

I saw some people don't even list a university they got their degree from…..or year or GPA….I guess once you get a CPA license, your GPA doesn't matter?? But if it's 3.95 why not emphasize the number??

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

Oh, and BTW, if you are still taking CPA exam, you cannot claim “CPA” after your name….

To Jeff's point I don't put MS after my name. I feel like putting MS after a name is pretty transparent attempt to look like a person has an alphabet soup fetish. Nobody puts “My Name, BS” or “my name, AA”. As long as it's listed under education on a resume, it's well covered.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Just to add to the comments above, I don't think most employers will waste their time asking you whether you sat in the classroom for the degree or not. Its a degree, its accredited and you earned it.

But please, don't put MS after your name. Those titles are not regulated like the CPA and its being misused left right and center.

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!
