    Hello Friends,

As I have mentioned in my previous posts that I am done from the examination part of CPA, now the next step is to apply for licensing and here I am again with hell amount of questions. I have Indian Masters in accountancy and I do have 150 credits, I used to work with the CA firm (which considers a general public accounting) until I came to USA.

Now, I tried calling CA board of accountancy so far 10 times that do they consider this experience as required experience towards my licensing and every time I get variety of answers.Ladies who are suppose to answer me are nice and humble but they sound confused. I tried a lot and at last thought let me start a post here may be anyone in similar situation was able to have these golden words behind their names through old experience.

Please friends if you anyone can suggest me anything in this regard than it will be of a great help. After accomplishing exams and not having title behind my name is kind of annoying…

I do not know the answer, but I do believe that you have to have experience under someone with a CPA license, if your supervisor was a licensed CPA I think you might have a good shot. I will try to find out more tomorrow if no one else has an answer.

Almost always from my phone... please excuse my typos!

Malotu is right , your experienced must be supervised by a CPA. I had a similar problem after I passed all exams. I am an International too and had my experience outside the US. I was told when I called the CA board that International experiences are acceptable only if they are in public accounting and you worked under or was supervised by a CPA. So I had to transfer my score to another state that recognizes international experience and is not mandatory to be supervised by a CPA. In my case the state I got licensed in accepted my experience, though it had to be verified by a CPA.

    BEC - 77
    FAR - 83
    REG - 77

    Far - Passed 83
    Aud - Passed 84
    Bec - Passed 77
    Reg- Passed 77

@nigerCPA do you mind sharing which state you got license from? And what do you mean by verified by CPA? who will help us to verify our international experience?

I transferred it to Kentucky and what I meant by verified is that, you have to get a CPA here in the US that will certify the experience. So in your case , you will need a CPA that is ready to sign on your experience, not necessarily someone that supervised your work. And the person must have been licensed during your years of experience. If your experience was from 2009, the CPA that would certify your experience form would be licensed prior to 2009. Hope you understand.
