Hi, I am a newly enrolled student for CPA and aiming to give BEC as my first exam in April mid 2014. I am studying from all Becker materials. I have heard a lot about Wiley question bank and ninja notes. Can anyone please suggest if Becker material alone is sufficient for BEC. I am doing good with Becker mcq and at this point I don’t know trying new question bank would be a wise idea or not. Plus, I have also heard that Becker mcq are similar to the actual exam questions. God knows how true it is. Please suggest if I should do Wiley test bank at this time..

And also how can I judge my written communication skills? I have understood the do’s and don’ts of WC but how do I grade my answers? Any help would be appreciated.

I think being able to do two test banks had a huge impact on my audit score. I used cpaexcel and becker though.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

    In short, yes it is.

Granted, I supplemented w/ Ninja Notes but mostly I plugged away at the comprehensive progress tests.

I think I got a 57 on Final Exam 2 and 3 days later I scored an 84 on the actual exam.

    A few short tips:

Don't sweat the WC.. just know how to contruct a coherent short essay.

Comprehensive Progress tests… learn it, love it..

Don't ignore IT.. familiarize yourself with the jargon

Do monitor your timing on 24 question sets (final exam testlets or CPTs)

Allot 15 minutes each per WC (45 minutes total).

Not gospel truth just advice from someone who was convinced chapters 1-3 were the death of me.

    10/13/13 - FAR *PASSED* 76
    12/01/13 - AUD *PASSED* 84
    01/09/14 - BEC *PASSED* 84
    02/27/14 - REG *PASSED* 81

I only used Becker, and I passed first try with about two weeks of studying. It's not what you study. It's how you study and how well you retain it.

    F - 2/15/2014 - 85
    B - 2/26/2014 - 88
    R - 4/1/2014 - 83
    A - 4/21/2014 - 95

    Licensed CPA in TX

Jordan23cc, please elaborate!! I want to try to finish BEC in a 4 week timeframe. I pushed up my auditing exam to this week to give myself an extra week, but I'm still feeling like the timeframe might be too tight. Did you do all of the lectures, or just jump right into the book and MCQs? That is what I'm thinking I will do and supplement with lectures where I need it.

    REG - Nov 4, 2013: 88
    FAR - Feb 27, 2014: 86
    AUD - April 5, 2014: 91
    BEC - May 6, 2014: 83

    Florida CPA 24 July 2014
(Done in seven months - thank you Jesus!!)

short answer: yes. I studied only using becker and i passed relatively easily. I honestly dont know how some people bomb as bad as they do with Becker. If you pay attention and do the practice hw you will be prepared…for any section

Just a note, I like another poster here, did not score very well on the practice exam 2 (65%) and passed with an 86. So dont really use that as a barometer. they make it harder

There is no harm in supplementing with Wiley. I was surprised that Wiley for BEC only has a little over 600 questions. Is the BEC section really that small?
