Is it just me????

    I’m currently studying AUD. Now, is it just me or does the MCQs not line up with the information from the book? I understand the information that I’m reading in the NINJA notes as well as the book. However, the multiple choice doesn’t seem to make sense and they aren’t worded in a way that I can go back to the book or notes and get an understanding. Am I doing something wrong? Should I purchase a different set of materials? Are all of the materials like this? I had Becker at one time and this section wasn’t clearly written like FAR. What should I do?

    That is how it is with AUD. I'm currently using Gleim and some of the questions will have you scratching your head. I've learned to figure out what the question is asking and then use a process of eliminating the worng anwers and go for the best answer. Surprisingly, it has been working.

    No it's not just you! I've just started studying Audit using CPAexcel and I'm reading the book and watching the videos. Once I get to the practice questions, I'm like wtf!? Where was that covered in the material? I feel like they ask all the same questions over and over using the same words in different patterns and sequences. My eyes are glazed over after 10 words and I have to read every question at the rate of a 7 year old.

    I don't want to waste anymore time with CPAexcel (it was OK for BEC) but if I'm not getting anything out of it for Audit, I'm considering another method like Ninja notes or audio because it's affordable. But it sounds like you are using Becker and are in the same boat. How far are you into studying Audit? I'm only about 7 hours in…

    BEC 65, 71, 75
    AUD 62, 70, 78
    REG 67, 66, 65, 66, 64
    FAR 68, 64, 73

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8

    I thought it was just me too. I had the same problem with Roger. Audit is weird like that, and I guess this is why it has the highest failing rate. Like the robot said, you end up figuring out the answer by process of elimination.

    FAR= 72-84
    Audit= 73-82
    BEC= 74-75
    Reg=77

    @claudia408 I'm not that far in. I'm using NINJA ten point combo. I've read all of the first chapter of Book 1 and am working on the questions for the section. I have some old Wiley materials from 2013 that I will refer back to in hopes to fill in a little. I also still have the book for Becker from 2013 to refer to also.

    @TvilleCPA ok I thought you were using Becker… So even with ninja 10 pt combo it's not helping? I am really considering buying the ninja 10 pt combo for Audit bc CPAexcel is terrible. I'm hoping a different way of explanation will help me. But it also sounds the nature of the Audit beast is complete boredom and doesn't really make sense initially… and might as well be Swahili.

    omg yes! Audit is terrible. i hated it in school and I hated the exam and studying for it! Especially the audit evidence parts I had so many questions that weren't covered in the material and had to think really hard to try to remember from school- I guess I could have referenced my audit book, but that would be too much work lol.

    Had to do that last post.. on a serious note though.. just pound out MC. after a while you will begin to grasp things. At least that's how I went about it. I used Becker and found the MC were a good prep for the actual exam.

    FAR - 11/30/14 -79
    AUD - 2/19/15 -86
    BEC - 4/09/15 -86

    @olintojr, lol. I was waiting on somebody to say that lmbo. But yes seriously, I will take that into consideration. I plan to go back through the books that I have for AUD today since I still have the Wiley 2012 and Becker 2013 materials. Just to get amother perspective on the material. Becker tends to over explain things but in situations like these its helpful that they do! Thank you for your sense of humor because its very needed during times like these 🙂 :-)!
