    Folks I am struggling…and I have to ask…

Is it normal to feel… OVERWHELMED?

    LOST IN THE MATERIAL?

    DISCOURAGED?

    FRUSTRATED?

    CONFUSED?

Is it normal to wonder…WHAT I HAVE GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?

WHY I’M PUTTING MYSELF AND MY FAMILY THROUGH THIS?

    IS IT ALL WORTH IT?

I’m not a needy person and if this is completely normal, than I won’t make that appointment with the psychologist…LOL. I just need to know if I’m the only one that has been hit with these waves of questions, doubts, concerns…

While I'm just studying for my first exam coming up in May. I believe yes, all of this is completely normal. I'm sure someone else who has taken the exam before will agree; this is a frustrating process. It's not an easy exam and you have to give up alot to study, and there are going to be days when you feel like you're not getting anywhere. I felt that way all of last week and had to take the weekend off from studying just to remind myself why I'm doing this. Just take a deep breath and walk away for a little bit. All the things I thought I wouldn't understand or remember last week, this week practicing MCQ's, I remembered and had understood some of it. It's a strenuous process; but you can do it!!!

    FAR - 61, retake 1/22

    AUD - 2022

    REG - 2022

    BEC - 2022

… to dream about FAR??? The last two nights I have been calculating COGS, lower cost of market and AR problems while I'm asleep yet I feel like I'm wide awake…the crazyness must stop.

Everyone feels overwhelmed at some point through this process. Eventually you will get to a point where you realize it all clicks and you actually know more than you think. Just remember that as long as you put the time in there is no reason you cannot pass this test. Also remember to read the wrong answers when doing MCQ's because that will actually teach you why you got the question wrong.

I am in my final two weeks of my first test BEC, and have felt great for the past 2-3 weeks, however starting yesterday i have become way more anxious and feel like I cant remember anything. This test is hard but not unaccomplishable.

    BEC 4/7/2014
    FAR 5/28/2014
AUD Sometime in Beg. of July
REG Sometime in End of August

I hope its very normal..lol cus most days I feel exactly how you put it! its not easy by any means. Esp when others around you have to put their lives on a hold becus you don't have time anymore to do certain things with them. The guilt, the pressure, and all this anxiety gets to u!

But my only hope is, this is temporary and it shall pass!! Inshallah!

I usually only drink regularly during tax season, but have been consuming alcohol regularly for over a year now. Not to the point that I need to go to AA meetings. Just 1 beer or a glass of wine at night before bed. It reduces some of my stress to help me sleep at night. There is also the occasional zanex that I have to take every month or two. This is all due to the CPA exam.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

I find myself going through similar emotions right up til the point I sit in that chair at Prometric. Just relax, it's going to be fine. I would agree it's a very stresful process, but it's worth it. No better feeling than success, I can promise you that much.
