Is it possible to have two NTS opened the same time?

    HI guys,

Hopefully you are doing great with your studies,

Im back after a painful tooth surgery and with the news that I canceled my AUD exam.

My question is if you can have two NTS open?

I`m asking this because I will apply to the Accounting Body paying 2 sections: FAR (to retake) and AUD.

My idea is to write AUD at the end of May and FAR at the end of July.

The NTS though is for 6 months, so I could pay as well other section.

But, I dont want to give myself zero time for contingencies (like this of my surgery) so my idea is to write these two exams and apply for a new NTS for the other two exams even when the first is not expired yet.

    Is that possible?

Or should I wait until the expiration of the first one to apply for the other NTS?

    Thanks!!

Yes you can. They will not allow you to have the same exam on a different NTS until you fail it.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Ask for an extension so that you don't have to pay again. Tell them you got your tooth taken off in Mexico and it was not the right one.

    FAR-84
    AUD-
    REG-
    BEC-

My suggestion is to wait before you get the NTS for the next sections. I bought two at one time, postponed my FAR exam and now I have to take REG before July 13th so I'll have to save a reatke for FAR until after that if I don't pass on Saturday. I do not like moving on until I've passed an exam so it will really mess me up to have to take REG in between in I fail FAR. All to save $40 buying them together. 🙁

@ CPAhereIam My study habits have been bad, so I am guessing BEC will be pushed back to the next window 🙁

So far, the highest number of NTS opened is still 3. I wouldn't mind having it at 4, but I would have to wait for the score release. There is a downside and an upside to it though.

    Downside:

Pay for all the tests in 1 lump sum.

You can't pick what section to pay for. Pay for it all or not at all.

Once you pay it, the 6 month starts counting.

Pressure. Lots of Pressure! That, or Life in general.

    Upside:

Save Money. $50 for multiple section in 6 months VS $50 for 1 section in 6 months

Save Time. It takes my BoA at least 2 weeks to get back to me with NTS. Might not be an issue for you.

    FAR - 62 (10/2/13), 50 (5/30/14)
    AUD - 73 (10/30/13), 66 (5/6/14)
    REG - 69 (4/8/14)
    BEC - 66 (2/27/13), 73 (4/21/14)

As others said, you can have 2 NTS's at once for two different exams. The way you apply for a NTS may vary with your state. For example, my state went to requiring candidates to signup for 1 section at a time. In my state, you can have 2 NTS's for 2 different sections, but you can't request them at the same time. Something about candidates signing up for more sections than they could handle.

So yes, but the way you do it in your state may vary.

@All thank you!! I will open 2 NTS, I think is a wise movement..

@Study Monk, well, it is extremely stressful to study at your rhytm, I think your mind is tired and somehow you need a bit of rest, so there is nothing wrong to write one exam next window. You are half way Monk, so keep up!
