Ok I start studying for REG in the last week. I am almost at R1-5 (becker). Alot of the answers are coming to me easy.

Can someone please tell me what are the hard chapters? How does R1 weigh in terms of difficulty?

I left REG for last after reading all the reviews last year regarding it being a very hard exam. Was I fooled? I am almost done with R1 and in relations to studying for FAR thats night and day.

When I was taking REG for the third time, during the actual exam, I thought to myself “This really isn't that bad now that I've put in so much time.” I scored an 80 that time. That exam really wasn't that bad… The first two times I just didn't apply myself how I should have. I didn't read the ancillary a million times like everyone said, I didn't do a million MCQ like I should have. The MCQ I did were the same ones over and over—which made me memorize. I think Becker alone probably could have helped me pass the first time, but since I failed so many times I really needed the additional test bank. If you are worried about REG I highly highly highllly suggest buying an additional test bank. Becker + Wiley for me was perfect! Things Becker doesn't emphasize were emphasized in Wiley, and vise versa. It's a very doable exam. I still had trouble with the research, even in my actual exam I never found it. Try to familiarize yourself with REGs research function, REGs was the hardest of the four exams for research. If you can pass any one of the exams, you can pass them all. Just put in the time. You've got this!!!!!! CPA 2012 woohooo!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

It was terrible. So many items on that test that are not covered in Becker. I did really well on the homework MCQ's all the way through and did really well on the practice exams, but when it came to the real exam – I'm praying for that 75.

for me,it is the hardest one compare to the other three.Becker is good for business law and regulation. Wiley is good for tax . i combined both together….and finally passed with 76!

FAR is still the hardest one for me.

I thought AUD mcqs were the hardest of all, because they involved a great deal of concentration.

REG sims were just as difficult as FAR's and AUD's.

You passed the rest, you'll pass this one too 🙂

its hard but the curve on it is pretty high I imagine

the first time through I didn't know what the hell I was doing because the book I was using (becker) was really bad and I didn't have much time to study because I was working from 7am to 8pm. I was putting random numbers on a lot of the SIMs because they were so poorly worded or just simply hard. I ended up getting a comparable on the sims but failed with a 68

To come up short by a mere 7 points after the pathetic attempt I put in the first time should give you some solace

    BEC- 80
    REG- 68, 71, July
    AUD- 61 , 84
    FAR- -- 75 🙂

@75- I passed the rest, but can't pass REG. Believe me, it's easy to get stuck on REG.

i think what makes REG hard are the sims

majority is fill in the blanks and they ask you questions in a way that you would never imagine them to ask you

    REG-65,71,74,73,70,74,79
    BEC-60's,60's,69,71,76*,78
    FAR-67,66,65,79
    AUD-54,60's,65,83*,69,80
    *expired

    DONE

Reg is a tough exam. The multiple choice questions are really tough. Having a little tax experience saved me with the sims. I left the center knowing it would be a close call.

    Reg 77 (Aug 11)
    Aud 80 (Nov 11)
    BEC 79 (Jan 12)
    FAR 80 (April 12)

I didn't think the actual exam was that hard, but I do have some tax experience. The best thing for me was the ability to access the IRS Code in the Sims. I was able to answer one I had no idea on because of that. Another one of my sims that I had no knowledge of the subject matter was really self-explanatory. I freaked out at first, then realized the answer was right there in front of me.

I wonder how I will do on BEC…the subject matter seems so much easier. I'll probably fail it! LOL

    REG - 89
    BEC - 82
    FAR - 87
    AUD - 81
Used CPAexcel, Wiley Online Practice, and NINJA!

    Peanut, I'm using Becker too.

What is the ancillary that you referred to?

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!

    Study resources:
    Becker
    Wiley test bank
