Yeah, it's possible. If we make the random assumption that taxation was about 50% of the exam, then that would mean you got almost perfect on the 50% you studied, and totally flopped on the 50% you didn't study. I don't remember the exact percentages for the exam, but I'd say around 50% being taxation would sound reasonable. The way you come back is to study all the topics next time around so that you've got a fighting chance at all the questions, instead of just the non-tax.

My question is, in 2 months of study, why didn't you study taxation at all?

What did you expect? 60% of REG is tax. Generally, 100% of the SIMS are tax.

Yes, there is way to come back from it. Study the 60% of the content that you skipped.

I don't understand why you would feel the need to ask this question. Why would you expect to do better than 49 when you skipped more than half of the content?

I guess tax covers 60 % weightage, so if you could study that too for your next attempt who knows you might add another 49 points to your current score.

Of course you can come back from that but you have to study ALL of the material.

I thought you did really well for not studying tax at all. I'm just perplexed about how you could study for it for 2 months and not study tax. But like the others said, it is easily rectified, and then I imagine you'll do quite well.

Lol, not to offend, but don't you think that's a dumb question?

Would you have been happier if you failed with a 65 without studying tax? Did you honestly expect to pass without studying tax at all?

Yes, there is coming back. You did just fine on your other exams, where I'm assuming you studied (most of) the material and did sufficient practice questions.

I am sorry (we are all thinking it), I had to ask, why would you not study “tax” on a TAX exam? Regulation= TAX.

I don't want to break the rules but **Hint** for REG exam, hopefully the AICPA won't give me trouble to giving away the answer, to pass REGULATION

STUDY TAX Accounting. I will give you a hint, the test will have no microbiology, no geography, no physics (E=Mc^2), no geology, no programming (java code 🙂 ) Just study tax!!! Tax!! Study tax!!.

Thank you guys. I know it is a dumb question in your opinion. But the real question was is there a comeback from 49 even when I have covered all the tax topics. I know the answer but I just wanted to hear some encouraging words that's all 🙂
