Is this a bad idea?

I just took a night auditor job with a Fortune 500/100 company, less than a month ago. This was before I passed my last exam and received my CPA license. Now I’m wondering if I should stick it out for the mandatory six months before they will let me transfer to corporate HQ in the accounting department or if I should apply to jobs elsewhere. I’m sure that the CPA license will open doors, but should I quit after only having been here for a month?

From what I hear, Marriott prefers to hire internally whenever possible, so after six months, I should be almost guaranteed a good job.

Maybe apply elsewhere and see if anything comes up. There is no harm in looking. But the employers may wonder why you are leaving so quickly, so you need a good excuse for that.

    Florida CPA!
    Took final exam 2/25/15.
    Sent in Application 3/12/15.
    Issued License 3/20/15.
Used CPA Excel solely for all exams.

    5 more months isn't a long time…I'm stuck at my job another 12 months… 🙁
