Is this a good sign?

So I had an interview this morning for a part-time position at a small (less than 7 employees) cpa firm in my hometown with the owner of the firm. I think the interview went well, and at the end of it, he said I should get a call from HR probably next week as they were fairly busy this week. I was just wondering if anyone else here thinks this is a good sign? Or could it just be another part in the interview process?

I think that is probably a good sign, especially since they are a small firm. But I find it is always best not to get your hopes up.

It can go either way in my experience. They could call you next week either to hire you, schedule another interview, or reject you. Don't get your hopes up yet.

Yeah it's 50/50 shot. Honestly, most of the interviews I have been on, it is real tough to know whether you got the job. But I agree with the other comments, expect not get it and if you do that's awesome.

I agree with everyone above. Whenever we interview anyone, we always get in touch with them after to let them know one way or the other.

I'm more impressed that a 7 person firm has an “HR”

By HR, he probably means his wife.
