    Hi Everyone!

I took AUD on 10/27 I received a 62 🙁 … I am thinking to take a week and review my weak areas and resit on 12/8. Is this a good idea? Any tips?

Also, I’ll be sitting for BEC on 11/30. Any final review tips?

    Thanks in advance!

    AUD: 41 (2010), 62 (2012)

    BEC: 51 (2010)

    FAR: 48 (2010), 55 (2012)

    REG:52 (2010)

SOmetimes it's best to study for an exam like you've never taken it before.

Karma I don't think u can sit for an exam twice in one window. I say focus on bec and tackle aud for the next window.

    BEC 10/13 PASSED 77
    AUD 04/12 PASSED 83
    FAR 08/12 PASSED 76
    REG 02/13 PASSED 76

Licensed in PA on 12/23/13. Yea boy!!

Yup, you can't sit for AUD until January. I hate to sound like a troll, but your scores really indicate a deficiency in your studying habits. I don't see scores in the 40-50's too often. Are you using a full review course?

Thanks everyone. @ jenuno01 I'm using Becker supplemented by Wiley. I've always been a bad test taker, I'll know the information and still fail. Its settled I'm focusing on BEC and I'll retake Audit in January.

I'm not sure if a single week of review would be enough.Your plan was to sit for BEC on 11/30, take a week to review AUD, and then sit for AUD?

“SOmetimes it's best to study for an exam like you've never taken it before.”

    I agree with this.

Or: “I've always been a bad test taker, I'll know the information and still fail.”

If that is the case. Why are you a bad test taker? Is it because of time constraints? If so, practice your time management with the practice exams. Is it because the tricky exam type questions? If so, practice the progress tests. The CPA exam tends to like to reuse the same “type” of tricky questions.

Personally, I wouldn't even register to sit for an exam until I was getting close to passing scores on the progress tests. No point in wasting money if you are not ready yet. And if your not there yet for BEC at this point, I'd recommend pushing it back.

    REG - Passed!!
    BEC - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed

I agree with all said before.. the knowledge for this test requires REPETITION in order to recall information on the spot. Get Ninja notes, or create your own condensed version of “must knows” for audit, then study it up down left an right. At the same time do tons of MCQ! Good luck

You need a reality check. Your scores are horrible all across the board.

You're going to review your weak areas in a week? What are your weak areas? My guess is everything.

What does that mean when you say you are a bad test taker? You just forget everything as soon as you enter the testing center? 75% of the MCQ's will have a clearly correct answer as long as you are prepared and know the material. The other 25% you can hopefully work out half of them if again, you KNOW the material. Just that alone and you will probably have a higher score than what you have BEEN getting and I am not even counting the SIMS.

Just from looking at your scores, you lack preparation BIG time. If you are a bad test taker, then fine, you need to work that much harder. You need to do MCQ's until you hate life. Do them until you question whether becoming a CPA is worth it, and then do more. Once you've done more, do them all again. And then, do them all again.

You have 3 more days until you sit for BEC. If you don't have it, go get the Wiley book and do every single MCQ in the book each day. By Thursday, you should be able do them all again fairly fast and then spend the extra free time memorizing the ratios and stuff. Good luck

    BEC - Pass
    FAR - Pass
    REG - Pass
    AUD - Pass

@karma87- It is suggested you start studying as if you have never taken any of the tests. Maybe I would start with a section you think would be easiest to improve- as it would be a confidence booster maybe pick Audit since you had the highest score in that section. You have Becker and while I can't say from experience it is sufficient,so far it has been for me and it has based on everyone else's words it is. People have different styles of learning, take your style and apply it to Becker's materials. You say you are not a good test taker, well then don't treat it like a test. You are eligible to sit for the exam so you must have graduated and passed college. Apply what you did for exams there to this one…While that may be a lot harder and a lot more work, you will achieve the end result of passing. Focus on one section and pass it until you switch sections….Did you do either of Becker's practice exams? You can do it, you just have to find out what you need to do to get there.

Thanks again guys! I needed to hear all your views. I rescheduled BEC to Dec. 7th. I'll retake Audit next yr.

Here is the plan I've been following:

Wake up at 4:00am, study for 1:30hrs before getting ready for work.

After work, I stop by the library to study from 5:30pm – 9:00pm

    At home, study from 10:30 – 11:30

I plan on sticking with this schedule until I sit for BEC next Friday.

I really appreciate everyone's opinions. I'm extremely motivated to pass this exam 🙂
