Today, I got 3 emails with the following template (with a couple of word changes here and there):

    Good day!

We considered your resume to be very attractive and we thought the vacant position in our company could be interesting for you.

Our firm specializes in consultation services in the matter of bookkeeping and business administration.

We cooperate with different countries and currently we have many clients in the US.

Due to this fact, we need to increase the number of our destination representatives’ regular staff.

In their duties will be included the document and payment control of our clients.

Part-time and full-time employment are both currently important.

We offer a flat wage from $800 up to $3,000 per month.

If you are interested in our offer, mail to us your answer on samuel@jobusagov.org and we will send you an extensive information as soon as possible.

    Respectively submitted

    Personnel department

Here’s the thing. When I checked who this email was sent from, it says that this email was sent from me. But when I checked my “sent” emails, there is no record that I sent this message. So why does it show myself as being the one to send me the email? Anyone else smell something fishy?

That email address looks fishy.. shouldn't it be @jobsusa.gov?

Did you ever send your resume to this place…? I don't see the pain in replying and getting more info.

Scam. The e-mail address gives it away — jobusagov.org? If it's actually from the government, it would be jobusa.gov.

Yeah its either a spam or scam…I get that a lot and you can also tell by the grammar used by these scammers.

Do not reply, just delete them.

I don't. But I am just wondering, how do I stop receiving these emails? It says that these emails are coming from my own email address, which does not make sense because I checked my emails sent and those emails were not amongst them, so I did not send them.

It's called email spoofing to get it to look like you sent it. A look at the message header would reveal more detail. You were right to be skeptical. I would flag it as spam and move on.

Nothing comes up under http://www.jobusagov.org, also when you Google the website there's no links in relation to it. This means there's most likely no web hosting for the site, and no website that's been created. If it's not a scam, it's STILL not an entity I would do any sort of business with.

Definitely a scam. The dead giveaway is the terrible use of grammar and missing punctation. The first paragraph is missing a comma, now come on, seriously?! Also, no one starts an email with ‘good day'.

Spam, the Government doesn't solicit via emails. They post job openings on their job website and wait for the floods of applicants.
