   My good friend here in KY wants to take BEC with only 15 hours of study time. Very smart guy but I think it is still a waste of money. Thoughts?

   I mean anything is possible, but I know I would never have passed with just 15 hours of studying. It's not so much the material, but knowing how the questions are asked, and you only get that from lots of practice.

   Yeah I suppose that makes sense, especially for BEC. I don't know if that strategy will fly on the other papers though.

   Well I guess they are better men than I. Then again, I hate going into an exam like any of these without feeling very confident. I know that 5 or even 15 hours would leave me feeling quite stressed during the exam.

   I think 5 hours is enough time, however you have to get enough questions correct and then guess enough times answer "B" where you are guarantee 25% pass rate on your guesses to score a 75%. Not all questions are weighted the same...... The passing formula would look something like this:

   75 points = X + (B * 25%)

   My major was Economics......

   I feel 15 hours is not enough. However, it is much better than going in not having studied at all. Another thing to consider is how long he has been out of school. Whether or not he was a straight A student, and may be as he was studying for his accounting classes, he was also reviewing past CPA exam questions. [There are times I wish I had sat for the CPA exam while going to school - sort of kill two birds with one stone.]
   I would like to know how s/he does!
