Is Wiley enough?

Hi everyone! I’m studying to take AUD in May. I was using Becker but my laptop decided to die on me this morning… I had installed my software 3 times already so I tried calling Becker to get an extra install with no avail.. Anyway, I was wondering if using Wiley is enough to pass the test? I’m ordering the book plus the notes and the WTB. I’ll be doing the same for BEC. Do you guys think I should supplement with something else? Thanks for your help!!

Really depends on how you study, everyone is different. After REG my becker expired and i studied solely off WTB and passed final 3 on first try. Find what makes you comfortable. Lectures and expensive books were a waste for me. Didn't see whay its worth spending thousands on becker or Roger when WIley is much cheaper and provides just as good MCQ. Thanks Jeff for the great deal on WTB

I started with Becker, and it did not fit my learning style. Needless to say, I wasted thousands of dollars to fail a bunch of exams. This past year, I jumped back on the CPA Exam bandwagon, and bought the Wiley complete package. I have passed 3 of 4 exams with Wiley alone! My first exam using Wiley was BEC, and failed with a 74. Then passed AUD(Oct 28), BEC(Dec6), and REG(Feb 27). I was a little burned out while studying for REG. That's why the gap between BEC and REG is almost 3 months. I only studied about 6 weeks for REG. I am currently taking a break from studying due to tax season, but will jump back on after April 15 to pass FAR. I believe Lilla and a few others have passed just using Wiley as well. Hope this helps.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

Before I learned that my employer would spring for costs of study materials, I bought Wiley and used it alone. I decided to tackle FAR first. I read from cover to cover and answered every question in the book. I passed on the first attempt with a 76. Next up was AUD. Since my employer agreed to buy me the full Gleim kit, I left the Wiley book on the shelf and read the Gleim book, watched the online lessons, and used the Gleim test bank. That earned me a 63. Next go around, I read the Wiley AUD book cover to cover and answered all the questions in it. I used the Gleim test bank until my eyeballs fell out. Didn't touch the Gleim book, didn't watch one online lesson. That earned me an 81. Repeated the same routine (Wiley book + Gleim test bank) for BEC, which resulted in an 81 on the first attempt. Repeated the same routine for REG, which resulted in a 75 on the first attempt.

So in my opinion, the Wiley books are VERY valuble, especially considering their low cost. Wiley alone was enough for me to get by FAR on the first attempt and I'd be willing to bet I could have gone through the other three with just Wiley as well. But the Gleim test bank was at my disposal and proved valuable too.

It was enough for me. I will say, however, that I used Wiley and WTB as part of the Yaeger program. I think the key with AUD is just to do a lot of MCQs. If you manage to work through and understand the reasoning for the majority of the MCQs for AUD with Wiley, I think you should be OK.

    Good luck.

I passed AUD with the Wiley books, WTB, and a few random free things (some YouTube videos and Ninja stuff).

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I want to echo what had been mentioned. It all depends on how you study and how you learn best. Wiley is way more than enough for me. I used it with Roger before Roger came up with his own TB. I also bought the Ninja notes, but I got lazy and never used it. So I think Wiley is the most helpful even compared to the lectures you get with a full blown course.

    Good luck!

    REG-89 (08/26/13)
    FAR-91 (10/28/13)
    BEC-87 (11/25/13)
    AUD-96 (01/06/14)
    Ethics-92 (12/08/13)
    CPA Licensed

I used 100% Wiley (online test bank and the big Wiley Study Books); occasionally, if I needed more study material, I would refer to one of my college textbooks, but this was mainly for clarification on a topic. Mostly, Wiley. I passed all four parts.

But everyone is different so you may find other study material more to your needs.

    FAR 82
    BEC 82
    AUD 93
    REG 87

If you like to build a strong academic foundation, by reading and thoroughly understanding the book, before approaching the test bank than one test bank is enough. If you prefer to do a quick read through the book and learn from the multiple choice question explanations then you should probably have a good amount of supplement questions. That way you can use some questions for learning and others for testing yourself. I used one test bank and a few hours on another test bank for FAR and used two full test banks for AUD. I plan to go over 2 test banks at least twice from here on out.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"
