I’m applying for a job that only requires a bachelors degree in accounting, however, on the online supplemental questionairre it asks my education. I really want to put that I’m currently studying for the my CPA license. I took FAR on July 6th and waiting for my score. I take Audit on August 10th and have already submitted my re-application for two more exams.

I’m an accountant I for a City and this new position is for an accountant II in a larger city. I want to be as competitive as possible. If I get this new job it will be an increase right away of $14,000, which is great for my wife and two kids.

What would you do? How do I show that I will be a stronger account because of my desire to obtain my license once and for all. Thanks.

I have CPA candidate on my resume. And once I interview they usually ask me where I am with the exam. And I am always honest on having taken one and not passed and working on my retake. I have also seen where people put down they have passed so many sections.

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training
    AUD - 1/6/18
    FAR - TBD
    REG - TBD
    BEC - TBD

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

Yes, put down that you are a CPA candidate or “eligible to sit for CPA exam.” Once you pass each test, add it to your resume. Also, put down tests that are scheduled, because it shows your momentum. Don't put down tests you have failed. I always put it in my cover letters too–“Currently studying for the FAR section of the CPA exam, passed AUD.”

    AUD - 77
    REG - 73, 80
    FAR - 69, 73, 79 and DONE!
    BEC - 82
